Spec2 Fuel Consumption

what's your full tank fuel consumption?

 

each bar is around how many km ??

my method, pump till full to the brim..

 

ride until reserve light up, go pump immediately.. take note of the litres pumped in, then divide the mileage by the amount of litres.. you get your FC in km/L

 

try the above method for a few time to get the average FC..

 

i used this method for very long liao.. cuz my bike no fuel gauge, must rely on FC.. it's dead accurate for me..

i agree with biting_point.. but if you want a faster method..

1) same, pump till brim... Reset mileage

2) travel until happy... Go pump...

3) take note of the mileage and the litres of petrol pumped..

4) take mileage divided by litres. then you get mileage per litre..

 

Btw, it all depends on how you ride...

e.g

One week, u in terrible rush.. everywhere you go also V-tec...

The other week, you change gear at 4Krpm, slowly does it...

 

the 2 conditions makes your FC varies alot...

if I need to accelerate first during start up...I will rev to 7k on first gear, then immediately rev to 7k again for 2nd gear...and maintain at 5 to 6k for 3rd gear onwards..

Wah brother u really whack ar!!! i believe spec 2 vtec opens at 6300rpm even spec 1 is at 7000rpm..this is on all gears...so it means u vtec for the first two gears...if normal riding, i wud change at 4k-4.5k per gear...unless ur chasing a train or sumthin..

ok..I was riding phantom and that's how I ride.

so maybe I should conserve my Vtec for only special occasion...

 

try to keep it below 6k from now on...

i believe that u rode like that on ur phantom due to the inavailability of a tachometer. nw its easier to gauge when to change gear as super4s have tachos...

Dun tink so, heard a few frens hu rode spec2 b4 they say the consumption sucks.. I guess it's partly because vtec open early bah..

Tried that once.. when i first got my bike but feel very heart pain after that..

Now for my best FC i ride wif gear change at ard 4-5rpm.. if no ppl tailgate.. change at 3rpm..

Shld go 2nd link try whack ur bike.. Soon will get used to the pull force liao.. Pull until got powercut den up gear tua again.. Clear carbon once in a while...

mine after a few occasional vtec full tank only about 230-240...think SPEC II FC would be better...
