I doubt the LTA will approve any thing fun - which makes me wonder, does anyone in the LTA actually ride a bike or drive a car? Most of the rules do not make much real-world sense, and makes me believe that they're all decided at a round-table conference and passed by a vote.

Officer: "Should we allow left-turning vehicles a free turn at every signal light?"

Voter: "Hmmm..."

Voter: "Ummm..."

Officer: "Ok, since no one said yes, let's just deny that request from motorists..."

Ok, that was :offtopic: - I'll go sit in that corner and be quiet for the rest of the evening!

Ride 'em like you stole 'em...

The use of HID headlamps/whiter headlamp bulbs is a technological trend in the automotive industry. The Land Transport Authority (LTA) has allowed HID headlamps to be fitted on vehicles because such headlamps have been used worldwide and they are purpose-built by vehicle manufacturers to ensure that they are safe. Like other headlamps, HID headlamps must comply with the relevant safety standards and be properly installed and aligned.

HID headlamps are more energy efficient and can improve the visibility of drivers as compared with standard halogen lamps. A motorist using a HID lamp system is able to see up to 100 metres to the front of the vehicle, compared to about 58 metres with standard halogen lighting.

With the increasing trend on the use of HID headlamps, there has been feedback from motorists that such headlamps are brighter and tend to cause glare. In an attempt to reduce the propensity of glare caused by HID headlamps to other road users, some vehicle manufacturers have incorporated an auto-levelling feature, which automatically adjusts the headlamp angle and direction based on road and driving conditions.

With effect from 1 January 2010, LTA will require all newly registered vehicles, except motorcycles, fitted with HID headlamps to be equipped with an auto-levelling feature.

HID systems are legal if u install them into a HID compatible headlamp casing. If u install HIDs into Halogen headlamp casing then it is illegal. All Projector headlamp casing are HID compatible...............

Wats your mileage?...Its recommended to do valve clearance every 20 000km unless you always follow the speed limit.

Mine is a 46 000km,1 n 1/2yrs old spec 3,send my bike for valve clearance when it reaches 32 000KM ago,one set of exhaust and intake valve clearance is off. The rest is ok. How much?..depends on parts and workmanship 120-200SGD...

where did haf your valve clearance done? nowadays not easy to find good workmanship + original parts leh...

Done it at bikeworkz. At the same time when doing you can also check on the timing chain.

PitsTopz - "Sangkut" there is a few things you might want to check.

1.Dirty airfilter.

2.Carb tuning

3.Engine not fully warmed up.(nowdays rainy season so must warm up)

4.etc.

Best is to get the mech. to see your bike.
