frankly with cleaner emissions, if 2stroke meets 4 stroke standard but with 2 times the fun factor...why not.

In light of some rumors that street legal two-strokes might make a comeback (incorporating the latest clean burning technology, no doubt), our friend Tor sent us this concept drawing of a new Yamaha RD350 (courtesy of artist Oberdan Bezzi). You may recall that clean burning two-strokes do exist, but many recent efforts to introduce commercially viable street legal two-stroke street bikes in Europe and the U.S. have been unsuccessful.

so the answer is NO. this is an artist's impression and nothing more.

with 2 strokers currently under scrutiny in asia for noise pollution and high emissions , i doubt they would come up with any new 2 stroke bikes . Even if yamaha decides to go ahead with this design , it would be sold in small numbers (less than 20 in the world) . then it becomes like the lamborghini reventon of motorcycles ... but i still do hope they produce this beautiful bike ....

i tink that pollution is bad for the country and for the world.... but 2stroke is way fun den 4stroke... if that rd350 becomes a reality, its will be a gift from the 2stroke gods

besides pollution, the bike will need to address fuel-consumption issues common with high capacity 2-strokers. with the fuel prices at record level, not many bikers would be keen to ride a bike that is thirstier than a toyota corolla.

even if they produce this awesome looking 2stroke.... imagine how they gonna design the exhaust to meet current emission laws... it will turn out weak...

but what if they took the current yzfr125 engine and put it on the bike.... possibility?? mini fazer

In theory , one of the most effective way to reduce the emissions of the two stroke engine is by replacing the conventional carburetor with a fuel injection supply . This can also improve mileage with better fuel consumption (FC) . With the timing and all figured out , the fuel injection can avoid the "scavenging" process notoriously known to cause very low FC . I think this is the way to go for 2 stroke production bikes . But sadly , manufacturers are looking away from future 2 stroke bike productions altogether ....

dun think its going to happen.. but the design is nice though.. since 2 strokes are out.. y not consider manufacturing 400cc 4 strokes? they have always been releasing their top of the range.. now even 125/150cc are releasing.. why not 250/400?

WOW...nice bike. Showed it to my dad and he goes OoooOo and aHHhHH...

yan 13,what you say can be done.,but still the noise level will be the same...

its a very nice design bike. 2 stroke 350cc, light weight. compared to 4 stroke, its going to b a fun bike.

unless yamaha is going for a new technology in 2 stroke, mayb this bike can b produced. since 2 stroke engines is famous in white smoke n high pitch exhaust, if they can eliminate these, think it shd b perfect. retaining the charateristic of a 2 stroke engine, instead of using 2T, mayb 4T with oil sump? so that smoke emitted would not b visible n with constant lubrication, piston jam is reduced. muffler modified so that the pitch is coverted bassy?

i believe this is a concept bike, like B-king. if yamaha is going into the design n engine characteristic, think it would a new breed of streetfighter on the road.

if only this is true..

wud definately get one..

think yamaha lose out to honda/suzuki badly in the 400cc category in asia..

yamaha came up with R125/R15..

they should also come up with a R400 or this rd350...

here are some article on two stroke for the future,

and why many company doesn't want to explore the technology.

http://www.dirt-bike-tips-and-pics.com/future-of-two-strokes.html

there are already many articles that tell the story how its possible to make 2t engine which are cleaner, more fuel efficent than 4t. of course more powerful and more torque.

some companies like ktm and lotus are researching into this, but not others like honda.

there are already big cc 2t engines in snow mobile vehicles.

so lets together boycott companies which are anti 2t. and hope for a more fun and cheaper motorcycling future.
