Full face or open face helmet for S4?

Yah man, FF is good, even EXtreme games BMX riders wore them on half pipes. I got the flip up FF and jz got the mesh armor jacket recently, suprisingly they are cooling coz of the mesh design which regulates air flow around. Its up to individual, I put on my gear whenever I can especially to 2nd link. Safety has no boundaries, at the end of the day, its all for the riders choosing it. Be wise, think safety, home safely.

Haha .. Thanks for th poll... but 1 of the option's like very wrong leh.. haha... Anyway, i bought my FF already.. hmmm...cant really say that its as comfortable as a open face... but u sure do feel safe wearing it... And ya, it sure does help in pimple prevention... hahaha

Guys, how about we ride S4 but use motard type of full face, you think looks funny or not???? Thread starter, sorry to place this quiries in your thread. Looks like more to streetfighter type i guess...

i agree....my first accident i was wearing a half face n i was concussed n could not remember e skiddin incident n half my face looks like frankenstein's 2nd bro......

my 2nd accident was somewhere b4 melaka along nsh alone...years later...luckily wearin flip up helmet...i smashed my left cheek against e tarmac pretty hard n roll over for a few meters......but i was able to immediately get up....push my bike quickly to side of e road from e right lane b4 2 big trailers side by side jus zoomed past without slowin...a clear head clearly saved my life...im sure it wld save yours too...i jus got off with a sore left jaw n an intact cute face...hhehehe

it is still pretty sad how some people still have this misguided perception that FF helmets should belong to riders of bigger bikes only... ride a 'less worthy' bike with a FF and u get weird looks that seem to say 'sure or not this guy' or 'like real only'.

 

it happened to me a few weeks ago as i was hand-carrying my agv stealth, (which i got due to it's nice design, good cooling properties, good price at the time, relatively light, imo). this guy (who i had assumed all this while to have enough common sense) asked me, "wah bro, very nice ur helmet. what bike do u ride?".

 

when i told him that i ride an S4, he went "pfft! super 4?? ride such a lousy bike and u wear a FF for what?". i just smiled and told him that i feel a FF would protect me better than an open-faced helmet. again, i got that 'like real only' look from him and he said "aiya i thought u riding what big bike. super 4 no need so expensive helmet lah".

 

wot an imbecile. but i just kept quiet. i can sense this is the kind of person who either 1) is jealous of my helmet and so is indirectly trying to diss me or 2) a retard who doesn't comprehend that an accident on a 1000cc or 125cc would still potentially damage my face if i were to wear an open-faced over a FF.

 

FF = riders riding big bikes only. wtf.

Flip-ups does give most of the protection of a full face helmet cud..but remember that there is a tendency of the peak being separated from the main body in an event of a collision..I myself own a flip-up but am considering a full-face juz for that abit more protection...But no matter wat helmet u wear be it full face or flip-ups or open-face, if u ride recklessly and dangerously, even a million dollar full face wud not be able to protect ur head...

ermm if i were you i would ask him "How much is your head worth for" $200 ?$500?. why buy so "cheap" helmet,insurance high, big bike, go custom made yr helmet got hud system ,auto tint visor,bluetooth etc pay thousand!! lol

 

Big bike or small bike somtimes its not always about the bike its about the rider how he/she wants to carry themself. "Buy harley,ducati,r1 wear t shirt short slipper go ride??..i have even seen girl wearing leather jacket ridding vespa and 2b riders wearing full face..

 

individual preferences how you want to carry yourself.Honest dont bother silly billy people comments you happy more than enough.

i have seen ppl in driving center wearing full face,padded jacket etc doesnt means they are show off !!

tat bike can go 180-200kph

everyone's talking about head and face protection, which is not wrong of course, but have you ever thought about our...NECK? helmet, no matter how good, if our neck bend awkwardly during a fall, also gone case.

Hmm..may be can consider a neck pad? u noe like those kids learning to ride peewee mx bike use...but if riding S4, for sure ur body will be tilted forward a lil bit, so ur head wud be slightly raised.. abit uncomfortable if we were to wear the neck pads if u ask me..and also to check blind spot wud be a bit of a hassle...easy say juz ride safe and obey the rules of the road..plus look out for ignorant drivers and riders...like i said in my previous post, no matter how much protection that u wear, or how expensive it is, riding dangerously wud still not protect u from anything...

I simply don't get this **** about riders not using FF helmets cos they look 'tak glam' on their bikes. It's really f#$king stupid.
