Hello guys, Just some news on new special race for KRR owners at Sepang on MSS this year, Singaporean KRR owners are invited to enter

 

With Kawasaki malaysia's gracious support, we may have a 150cc race for this year's MSS. in this particular situation it takes 3 to tango:

 

Step 1. kawasaki's commitment.

 

Step 2. get riders to commit on paper they will race when mss begins on april 15-16, by this friday january 20.

 

Step 3. sic's seal of approval

 

 

had a meeting this morning with kawasaki to finalise Step 1, and here's what they have committed:

 

i. one make race, all kawasaki 150cc two stroke bikes are eligible to enter, old and new, any year of make. only Novice categorised riders are eligible, e.g. if Malaysian, this means National C race licensee only.

 

ii. to keep costs low for entrants, this will be run as a SUPERSTOCK race:

 

a. competitors are not allowed to add components or change to race/modified parts. no modifications whatsoever allowed to the engine except to change the carb jetting. only standard sprockets allowed.

 

b. competitors are allowed to enhance existing standard components on the bike, such as re-oiling the front fork, clearing the exhaust internals but the entire exhaust system has to be stock, including muffler.

 

c. tyres will be supplied by kawasaki at a special low price for participants. if race tyres are deemed too costly for participants, then a certain street production tyre make will be supplied, likely of higher grade with participants' safety on track in mind. you can conclude its a one make tyre race as well. participants are not required to spend on new tyres every round if you do not wish to, subject to scrutineering and safety issues (if its finished/near its end/deemed dangerous, you must then change to comply). only stock rims are allowed.

 

d. participants can use any 2T oil. fuel must be from petrol station (no race fuel allowed).

 

iii. minimum 5 rounds will be run for 2006, following the MSS schedule. prize money per round will be as follows:

 

1st - RM2,000

2nd - RM1,500

3rd - RM1,000

4th - RM600

5th - RM400

6th - RM200

7th - RM100

8th - RM50

 

only the top 3 riders will be on the podium. prizes for end of season overall top 3 winners will be decided at a later date. considering the most attractive prize money vs expenses to race ratio as seen above, you can be rest assured kawasaki will make it worth your while!

 

 

there you go folks, there is no other race in malaysia that has the lowest cost to participate, yet with highest fun factor of two-stroke corner speed! its all about the rider in this kawasaki one-make race, the rider.

 

with all of the above served on a silver platter, we now need to complete Step 2, which is to get minimum 20 confirmed riders to race, maximum 30. bring them on to SIGN UP dudes ;-P

 

please copy and paste the following each time you add yourself into the list. this will help us keep track by reading the latest reply only, instead of counting page after page to tally the number of participants. its serious business from here onwards ya, let's do it:

i would truly appreciate your kind assistance to spread the word to those not online, and those in singapore forums/boards for example (big KIPS following there too). for those not online, if you can take their info and register for them here, that would be awesome. as you know the grid is limited to a maximum of 30 bikes for a variety of reasons, so entrants will be given a slot on the grid based on first come first served only.

 

i will finalise this list latest by friday january 20, and package it for Step 3, submission to sic for their consideration and approval asap. april's round 1 is just around the corner. we will request for race entry fee to be only RM100, subject to sic approval of course. costs for your medical check-up and race license application are out of our control, so the standard applies like every other racing applicant.

 

what are you waiting for? if you dont have one already, go buy a new KIPS now, RM8,500 odd only (if bike shop loan only about RM250 per month for 24mths, with some deposit).
