Last week was my first time driving an auto car and it felt weird cos' I didn't get to try with a private instructor.

speaking of transmission.. hopefully they will have mazda type of transmission, auto with the manual up/down thingy in all cars..

the common DSL auto gearbox doesnt offer the pace like the manual shifter Mazdas have..

 

of cuz need to change oil more often if always wack..

 

nothing beats the original pure manual utlimately..

If you are willing to pay...

In terms of efficiency, nothing beats the ZF DWC powertrained porsche 911 gearboxes and LuK powertrained DSG. Shifting speed beyond man can achieve.

 

In terms of fun... it's still the primitive manual gearboxes.

agreed!!! noth beats the normal manual gear shifting!!! i love it!!

even when driving a van or lorry... i love to test the speed of how fast gear shifting n rpm matching can go to..

though those vehicles cant go fast.. =) but its the joy in shifting gears n familiarizing with the shiftings which got me hooked up in WRXs...

yeap.. had a taste in tat b4 in a mazda3sp..

i dun tink it was really needed.. juz an extra feature to push ur car when u are in the wrong geaR? lolx...

I think it really helps because you can play with your rpm to obtain the speed much sooner IMO.

Twin clutches are the fastest. No matter how skillful you are in changing gears, after 10 laps when the fatigue seeps in, the twin clutch gearbox is still ahead.

I'm refering to those under PDK by ZF SACHS for Porsche and DSG by LuK for VAG.

 

With the full manual twin clutches, it doesn't matter. As long as the clutch releaser, master and slave pumps are all in good condition, Clutch fluid clean and fresh. Everything is fine. Even those that come under the ZF SRE (Sachs Race Engineering) RCS (Racing Clutch System) is also fine. Don't mind their higher clamp load. They can still stand high stress and abuse. Otherwise how do they supply for famous race teams in the F1, WRC series.
