hi bro.i'm facing the same problem as u. i'm riding a spec 3. wat i think now was, to buy a set of chiong meter at LAB to fix it. cos original meter too ex. which not worth it. i dun noe if the meter use chiong wan the speed or fuel bar will be actual a not. that's the worried part.

i had this problem be4.

 

mine was worst. everything was leaking...

 

the culprit was that the mech never fix the oil filter or the air filter proberly. then the eo leak out.

Maybe gasket ard that screw area spoilt? You mean those white tapes for water pipes? wah, dangerous de cos dunno can tahan the heat anot, later gives you more problem.

bro, i call alot of scrap yard. all dun have, perhaps spec 3 is still new in the market. very hard to find. OR any bros here got any scrap yard lobang to find spec 3 meter?

Just drop by a mototiam or get a T-bar type box spanner size 8 and tighten it..oso check those beside it. REMEMBER not to over tighten..the bolt breaks easily..do it only when engine is warm. Nothing to do with gasket. This is common as most mech do not like to over tighten all these size 8 bolts as they are britter due to heat though they are heat forged.

that's y i dun noe wanna change chiong wan a not. my speedometer not accurate with the speed. the fuel bar and the time display also got gone. think if wanna change or repair must change the pcb board. a brand new meter cost $600+ , whereas the pcb board cost $400+ . quite ex thou. haiz.

 

If you don't have the cash..save for it. You regret getting a chiong one for this type of things as teething problems would plague you down the line..like firing and advance problem..not only inaccuracy for speed and fuel indication..as there are circuit board that invovles components precison fucntion inside it. The new meter may sound expensive but it worth its course and last you yeras of usage.

 

Things like that is one thing you should not save at...don't understand why ppl can spend on useless stuff like changing tail piece by the hundreds and belly pan and shrouds, 'christmas' lightings and disco leds etc......sighhhh.

This is common. Plse read my post reply to Pohheng goldsmith shop

 

You can get part replacement for it. To maintain and keep lcd and electronic gadgets like that reliable..always cover your meter if possible away from direct sunlight.

Guys, I wanna ask. Are spec III brake pads the same as CB600? If not same, what other bike models that are the same as Spec III? Eg: EBC or Goldfren. Cus I ordering online, they do not have CB400... Please input, thx!

I went down to a mech,they say gasket.so i got it change,seem like no leakage for now.cost me ard $30+. ex sia.

You mentioned the bolt at first..now you said the 'tube' coming out of it. Of course retightening the bolt wn't help.

 

That's not a tube..that's your magneto coil 3 phase wiring sarong coming out from the rubber gourmet. It leak because the last time whoever did that magneto coil change job did not done a proper job. Could only be solved by opening up your crancase side cover, and redo that part and once crancase cover is taken out, you need a new gasket too.

I won't be able to tell wheather what u got from Little India is original or not..but may be u wanna take your old ones out and comapre. There should be some oem honda parts wording or part number marking at the same place or something to that in labeling.

 

U wan t sure to be original..get from recognised spare part shop or advertiser here like Chiong Aik, Ever Success or FJT..etc.

[Q] speedometer/tachometer internal lcd displaying mileage/clock has burnt out , hardly visible , how can i change the lcd and wher to get. BS honda quote for whole meter arnd

600+. i don' want to change whole meter, expensive. intend to sell bike soon after that.

a friend suggested sungei kadut for scrap parts to search for like meter..

i'll go down this weekend arnd ubi area 1st to check out who has , i've also email out to some for solutions , will share wth u once if they came out wth good reliable solution to change lcd on meter. Ah pek advise are also good on the other end!

okay bro. waiting for your good news. not worth it to change a new meter. is freaking ex. i think if not wrong spec2 also must change the whole PCB board. cos i dun think u could just change the LCD screen by itself. mine also need change whole thingy. haiz.

Just brought a Spec 1 and recently, the emergency switch is shorted, thus I cant start my bike. Went to my bike shop and they done a bypass, is it ok for the switch to be bypassed? My bike is still under warranty.

 

Heard from the shop Super 4 always have this problem thus changing the switch might caused it to be shorted again. Any advice or anyone facing similar issues?

YAWNZZZ! cos ur bike under warranty,so if really change switch they got to do it FOC,so they use this line =X ,jus tell them u dun mind it to be shorted,just change,and make sure u witness the whole process to make sure they really change a new switch for u,faster go and do before the warranty over
