Ticking or clicking sound. If its clicking sound the you heard after pressing the brake levers, then the sound is actually from the rear brakelight sensor. :thumb:

[Q] hey bros, I just got my Spec III yesterday and I got a question to ask. When i was riding the bike back home, the engine seem to be radiating a lot of heat. Is this normal after an oil change? The temperature is hot enough to make your thighs sweat.

What is it about driving cars that makes you all such assholes?:gun:

A common thing among new owners...you are not riding fast enough...but do check your coolant system for proper maintenance by previous owner/owners.

If I'm not wrong, the coolant is behind the ride side cover which writes "Super 4 Spec blah blah". Others can advise on this.

To remove seat, insert your key fully at the keyhole above the rear number plate. Twist your key and pull up the seat. Voila! Your seat is opened. :thumb:

Hello guys, i would like to know more about the FAMILY OF SUPER FOURs...

Frankly speaking i'm quite baffled by the different models and versions.... the only way for me to tell how old a super four is is usually by its license plate.

Could someone please direct me to a site or thread where i can learn more about the different versions? I.E. Spec 1,2,3. VerS, CB400, etc...?

I like this bike very much, but 2a won't be coming soon... so would like to learn about this bike as much as possible if its not too much trouble for you guys to share.

Thx veery much in advance!

differentiating them by license plate number also not exactly correct as some of them may keep old numbers or transfer the number to a new bike leaving a spanking new FBD plate on a Ver S..

Project Big 1:=

  • 4-1 full system, stainless steel
  • chrome meter cluster
  • squarish tail light
  • chrome round headlight.

______________________________________________

Version S:=

  • seat opened from side, key hole at the side panel
  • more squarish tank compared to VTEC
  • Squarish tail light
  • OEM headers had links in btw the 4 headers.

______________________________________________

Version R:=

  • similar to Ver S but had a squarish headlight.

______________________________________________

VTEC 1, hyper vtec:=

  • had a different fork tube from the rest
  • first VTEC version
  • had a rounder square tail light compared to the older versions.

______________________________________________

Spec 2:=

  • similar to VTEC 1
  • first HISS model
  • Vtec opens earlier.

______________________________________________

Spec 3:=

  • Sharp tail, LED tail lights
  • clear headlight.
  • VTEC opens the same RPM as Spec 2
  • side panels are bigger than Spec 1/2 ones

______________________________________________

Revo:=

  • outlook similiar to Spec3
  • first EFI model
  • may comes with ABS.

______________________________________________

there's a version of CB400, that looked like a Spec1 but having top block of Ver S w/o VTEC.

Bold'or are Spec 3 and Revo.

Many S4 had mod and change their outlooks.. dun be surprised that a Spec 1 can look like a Spec 3.. best is to had someone from here that know how to differentiating them to go with you..

any more differences, please feel free to add..

Wow... unlimited petrol... how I wish mine was like that... lol...

Bro, I think you can bring ur bike to any workshop if you not sure.. shouldn't be charging you just to check or reconnect any loose cable..

Its really troublesome to gauge by the mileage... Lidat everytime you pump full tank you must reset your trip meter.. hit 270+km must pump already... All the best..

haha, yeah that would be nice wouldn't it. only when reality strikes i'll find myself pushing it a few clicks to the pump, lol.

well i've been riding old sportsbikes all my life, so resetting the trip meter is like second nature now, but i'll get it checked soon, thanks hamtaro
