To the experienced riders:

 

1. How many of you have spotlights on your super four for touring? cos im using the big RXZ head and the light is abit too low and doesnt spread out far. My eyes not that good at night in the dark.

 

2. Any of you decarbonize your exhaust before? how much? isit really needed?

i also using rxz headlight..im changing to katana or raider headlight soon...rxz really CMI..its just wide but not spread to the front..

 

anybody have any reviews about those headlights?

Hi guys,

 

Currently riding a spec 1. Anyone can enlighten me of the following:

 

1) Can i replace the instrumental gauges to a spec 3 one? How much roughly?

2) Anyone has slider installed to protect the exhaust?

3) Anyone did a respray for a spec 1, one single colour how much?

1) Unlikely..wiring and base mount is different.

2) I guess no one here does otherwise u would have got and answer or either they are not in SBF.

You want you can..need some 'modification'..but if you are buying off one that fit as "standard"..I doubt.

3) An average good job is $250-$350..tank, front fender, side cover and tail piece.

okay. even if its clogged up ? they will remove the header also isit?

There is nothing that will clogged and not at the muffle. Its at the header curves and 4-2-1 or 4-1 joint area. The only way I know that ppl has done it is to use burn the pipe hot from out..then pour in "REDEX" (react with heat to disolve carbon)..lots of it (not cheap) and when cool..try to drain it out..after that, fix it back and find a place to clear the remainder by blasting in hi-rev and let the remainder REDEX oil-chem to dry out..lots of white smoke (worst than like fogging and better do it in a no man's land).

 

Spot light..you have to have at least a Yuasa YTZ 12S for its hi current..better still 14s if your battery compartment can take it. Go lookk at the newer GoldWing Honda and the extra spot like accessories mounted..battery is YTZ 14s..u get the idea. Make sure you use hi-current wires for ur spot light and don't forget to take off the lens cover when its "ON". Oso to put it back on when not riding..LTA can book u! Anyway..not sure what spotlight are you talking about unless its those "projector spotlight"..than don't bother.

pls help.. wan ask when every 1st day i start my bike .. when i press start the 1st start that got the pop sound come out of the exhuast.. engine nv run.. then second press start then the engine run

Likely spark plug wet with eo or gap to big liao due to prolong usage.

hahaah so not putting any balancer also can? i today ride from jurong to ubi, my levers vibrate quite badly man. no sound but when you touch can feel vibration is strong.

 

your kind of balancer is not meant for renthal bar. Renthal requires the type i posted as its internal diameter is smaller than normal bars, and renthal's internal doesnt have any screw threads (correct me if im wrong). if you modify your balancer to fit in, it might come loose over time.

oh... yea the internal diameter is smaller than the stock bar. how much and where did you get your motivation from? i dont rmb seeing it at unique.. yup renthal's internal doesnt have the screw threads.

Wandering how do u know the Vtec is open ? Most ppl say is around 6-7K RPM. With this, it question back how do u know ur Vtec is not working ?

 

Fyi, I hv hit 7K RPM not that spectacular leh.

hmmm.change to am AM exhaust,so once vtec open there will be a change of exhaust sound??

How do u know the Vtec is open ? Most ppl say is around 6-7K RPM. With this, it question back how do u know ur Vtec is not working ?

your exhaust sound will be louder and the speed will go up very fast. if open above 7rpm, your exhaust still sound the same then i guess the vtec not working.

Hi, speed of cse will goes up & sound i believe is more loud especially i had a Micron exhaust but was cap at 98db. Just feel that the mention method seem not very visible.

 

May be i use to hell rider & driver.

install a vtec indicator?...i'm using 1 now....riding a specII so vtec open very early..

How much it cost ?

its just a indicator like red led lights turn on when vtec open...bought from fellow guy here...but heard it was done by s4vtec...but dun know how true...maybe u can ask him....

Huh? you really cannot feel? or do you have a pillion when you ride?

 

The power is quite different with vtec on eh imo

When touring, its usually the rider that give way first before the bike itself.

hmm you try riding and dragging in gear 1/2/3. sure can feel the vtec opening. if not, i guess its better to go send it for mech to check it out.
