hi guys, i just myself a spec2 last week and i need to get the bike serviced. mainly, change clutch cable and service carb. maybe change second hand handle bar and bar clamps. (current one uneven.) from what i've read, clutch cable will cost around $20 and servicing of carb will cost around $80 without changing float needle. can anyone give me a rough idea of how much second hand bar clamps and handle bar might cost? and can anyone recommend a trustworthy mech i can go to for my servicing in the woodlands/sembawang/yishun area? thanks in advace

I second outspoken's opinion. I'm a regular there myself.

When I feel sad, I stop being sad and be awesome instead. True story. Hehe :thumb:

Last weekend i went to jb kulai via nshw. At High Speed, my bike suddenly die... i press my start button while still fast on the move the bike wont start... till my speed is 80, i let go my clutch then the bike is back to normal and i rode @ 100 all the way to kulai =x. Is it because of powercut ?

wah. thats some scary experience. i dont think powercut works this way.

When touring, its usually the rider that give way first before the bike itself.

got box got tour.

Hi, I'm new to s4 and hav just bought a spec3 1 mth plus ago. My question is, when I on my ignition my batt volt meter reads 10.8-11. After u start my bike it reads 11.8-12, sometimes reaching 13. During cruisig it reads ard 11.8-12.2. Is it normal? 2nd question is, I ask for my servicing to be done b4 I collect my bike, so how long it how much mileage do I need to clock b4 I do my servicing like changing of eo oil filter etc. Tks a lot ya..

For the voltage part, Use a multimeter to meaure the battery voltage directly to see the ignition voltage and rev ur bike to see whether the bike voltage goes up,the reading there is the most accurate..... changing of EO dun really see milleage but how high u rev ur bike when u move, E.g if u riding 90km/hr at RPM 6(crusing gear) is serivce every 5000Km, travelling at 90km/hr at RPM12(drag gear 2) is service every 2500Km cos ur RPM is twice as fast... milleage is just a guide, normally i change within 4000Km to 5000Km, oil filter every alternate oil change

Wow so fast got pple gimme great advice. Tks bro. My rpm usually doesn't goes beyond 9 since sg roads are limited. Haha. Saw e eo and oil filter packages from uniquemotorsports, seems reasonable. May try it next time. Btw I duno wat is a multimeter. Can I ask shop to help me check? I tried asking my bike shop they says it's normal. So long as e neutral light us strong etc it shd be okie right?

First of all , what is their definition of 'strong'? its just like what its ok for them doesn't equal to ok in actual fact, a multimeter or a voltmeter is used to measure voltage, using the neutral light as an indicator is not accurate, its like almost impossible to see a 1 V different usnless ur voltage goes really low like 9V,tapping a multimeter directly to battery is to get optimized result, revving ur engine and check the voltage is to check whether ur battery is charging, if ur battery voltage stays as it is or only a very small different , its either ur battery is spoilt (OEM YTZ10S cost ard $150-$180) or ur rectifier is spoilt ( cost ard $100) or ur magnetic coil is spoilt(ard $300) , either whichever is spoilt if left unattend will lead to the failure of all 3 items ( which will be $500+ of repair fee)

guys,

i have a pressing issur. dunno whats the problem. when i start my bike nowasdays, the voltage is very low compared to last time.

last time wen i on the bike without headlight on is 14.3v to 14.4v

now is 12.4

wen bike running with light on used to be 13.6v

now is 11.5v

wen i rev d bike, d voltage goes up but wen i dun rev, it goes down to 11.4v back.

Sis lxy, there are 2 screw at the top of ur fork, is it at the hardest setting? Turn it clockwise till the end and try, if no use means it's time to service the forks, bro pyro13, do not believe ur voltmeter that is on the bike, they will degrade after time , use a multimeter to measure directly at the battery bro, I did on mine the volt difference can be up to 2v

am not sure if this will help, take a multi-meter and see what the actual voltage of your batt.you do not need to on your bike.
