Hello Bro,

My spec 1 is leaking coolant from the water pump area.

Any idea how to get it fix?

And the damage to get it fix?

Better to have the pump replaced...$180-$220.Trying to replace O-ring seal amy not help.

Yo fellow s4ers, especially @ ah pek,

I just started riding a spec 3 which is currently 7 years old. Everytime I change gear it just doesn't feel smooth. Whenever I up gear, the feeling and sound produced is like stepping down to gear 1 from neutral - loud, with that heavy 'tak' sound, and forced. Whenever I down gear, it feels very hard and rough, which makes it difficult to down gear sometimes.

My chain is lubed, and engine oil just changed. What could be the problem?

No...has nothng to do with ur lubing the chain or eo (only very partial play)...just go and tighten ur chain a bit more if its loose and readjust your clutch cable which is likely stretch (at the clutch level there..see if the tension adjustment screw is too far out..if it is, set it back to return and adjust the major tension screw setting at the other end of the clutch cable at the right side near top of engine crank case clutch side). These two procedure should do fine.

Thanks bro! What I mean't by sprockets was the original honda sprockets(at least that is what the packaging said)but I didn't check whether it was authentic or aftermarket. I did it at Planet as he is known to be an honest man, I went there to change my sprockets and chain because of the tak-tak sound and the sound vanished for a month. So when the tak-tak sound came again recently I thought it have something to do with my clutch or gearbox.

Anyway bro, issit possible to change only the front sprocket? I thought i comes with a set?

Thanks alot for your help. Now I am re-assured that it is my front sprocket causing problems again!

Bro how was it? changed a new spocket ?? cuz i suspect mine same prob as u .. i realise i also have the tak sound after i release the clutch . n i feel my footpeg vibration. i jus gotten my bike 2 weeks ago . spocket is new but probably its lousy one. ? i dunno . u noe whenever u buy bike from shop dey change eveything new but lousy one. so if ur problem is gone. probably i go check on my sprocket too.

Bro, I suggest that you don't wait. Just go back to the shop you bought the bike from and ask them to check. Talk to them nicely when asking them to check.

I bought mine in early October and I have gotten all the issues on my bike sorted by the shop FOC. Even if your bike shop won't replace parts FOC, can at least try to negotiate for cheaper price.

Be wary of the source of information for your bike's maintenance. Some FAQs are compiled by people who lack the technical know how.

Ok I tried adjusting the clutch freeplay; making freeplay alot then very little, but both ways also dont solve the issue leh... Chain is tight enough...

I* assumed that you have done what said correctly..ok then, when was ur last clutch plates changed? If u do not know or done so before..if it comes with the bike "as is"..it could be clutch plates wearing do..just my guess since u already did the other two things.

Not yet bro, I don't really have the time yet, you should go ahead first since you just bought yours from a shop like what ramsnake said. Update us if you do bro.

I have no idea when clutch plates were changed.. Anyway what is your suggested amount of mileage before clutch plates are changed on s4?

1st... welcome my fren..... the indicator shld be low oil pressure... Lights when the engine oil pressure is below normal operating range. Should Light when ignition switch is ON and engine is not running. Should goes out when the engine starts, expect for occasional flickering at or near idling speed when engine is warm.

Hi heskeydal,

What should i do to prevent low oil pressure? Will it affect the performance of the bike or cause the bike/engine to deteriorate?

I am worry for it as I have save so much $$ to buy the bike and dont wish the bike to be in this condition.

If the light still blink or light up AFTER you start your bike, it is adviseable to visit a mechanic the soonest, most likely is Engine Oil (EO) problem.... you can contact @Ah Pek as well for this issue, he is most happy to assist you on this issue....
