Hey guys! need ur help. recently got a super 4. realise this morning there is something like black oil on the floor. Is that call leak? ard how much will be the servicing? And also when start bike, the bike started up but after few second it stall. what will be the problem? and service how much? thanks much.

check wif u guy. spec 1 will turn on vtec at 6th gear 6750rpm right? is there anymore turning on of rpm at higher rpm? cos i felt sudden power coming in at 9000rpm at 6th gear. is that normal???

How u guys know when ur vtec excatly opens???remember that sound travels slower so u cant really tell acurately when ur vtec opens unless u have a vtec light like spec 2 and above.

I could feel the vtec opens. Usually is 7k rpm on 6th gear.

 

I do not know about on other lower gears. Could be 7-8k rpm

Available in most DIY shop...NTUC Hub used to have or just about any supermarket store that has some quick fix product. This one is from "Selly"..the glue gum is the same as those use by clobbers for shoes mending...about $4.50 to $7.59 a tube.

i got 1 more question. my bike every time cold start(parked ard 6hr or more) wil haf a weird sound "crak crak crak" for ard 40sec or so til e bike is warm up.

 

i wen to my mech tok dem abt tis dey open up my clutch housing and plate to check, he say its ok and fine, and he did some tin to my clutch plate cuz i oso told him its hard to kick neutral. after he fix back, e "crak crak" sound gt softer and he only solve neutral gear prob. he said its fine to haf tt sound

 

i wen to other mech and ask some say clutch housing got prob.

 

so now im quite confuse. izzit really lidat? cuz im noob to tis bike

care to share who is ur mech n which shop?? i see its ur mech trying to be honest telling u no harm continue using its jus appear the sound of the clutch, others jus nv open up wan u to change it... jus like most s4 has those tickling sound.. v common but no harm

from republic. last time my bike i done thr quite good. so i trust dem but tis time abit weird so jus wan clarify if its v common and no harm den will b good.

Hey guys I have a few questions hope you can help me out. I ride a super4 versionS which i got in feb.

 

Firstly, I went for a road trip to port dickson sometime in may and I had overheating issues during the trip. I suspect it was because I was carrying a pillion. I am using engine ice in my radiator then i found that it was empty so i top it up. But when i got back, i checked the reserve and found that it become black colour. Is this because of a leak in the coolant system? Am i right by directly filling the radiator with engine ice coolant without mixing with water? The problem is still there and i have not done anything about it but the bike runs like normal.

 

Second, recently my bike felt sluggish and a bit choked when riding. But now that problem seems to be gone. Is this normal? Maybe carb need to service?

 

Third, theres been a weird sound coming from the engine and it feels weird when i ride like a bit no power. Also it is shaky and got cranking sound when at low speed. Is it gear problem?

Sounds REALLY BAD to me. The coolant being black not brownish (rust from radiator) is sign of eo leaking into the coolant system and this happens only if ur block gasket is leaking. As wif the rest of the tell tale sign that u are experiencing...I think ur eo may be below level olehdee. The first thing I would checvk is the eo level. Let ur bike rest for at least 5 minutes...open ur eo inlet cap (dip stick) and white it dry if it has oil. Now..put it back and give a quater or so turning back in making sure not to let the dip stik touches the inner side. Now..straigthen ur bike slowly and do not tilt over side too much. Now..let it back on side stand and turn out the cap dip stik again..u should see eo on the upper mark if not..ur eo is low on level. Gd luck.

Best u asked a few shop for their opinion oso base on what I said as a reference but do not tell them what u know. Ur gasket (one (engine block) that seperates the eo and coolant in the water jacket area) need to be changed. I would not know the price as mototiam prices varies due to their rental and how good mech is. Important is to find a shop that does S4 well..like say Unique, Teck Thye, Planet..or KnT..MotoWorld perhaps. Your coolant ahs to be drained off and replace too in ur case if what I had said is right.

[Q] I have a weird intermittent problem with my spec 3. Sometimes there is no power on low gear/low rpm. The engine coughing/spattering and I have to rev it to get power. But no problem at high rpm or while cruising.

It's not because engine is cold, cause it can happen after a long ride. I tried to increase idle rpm but problem still happen, it's intermittent.

I've been riding this spec 3 for 4 months now. It's happening more frequent now.

Anybody can shed a light on this problem? What steps should I take to troubleshoot this problem?

When did u last changed ur plugs...if just recently..could be one of the plug shorted. You can check by touching the headers after a short ride..all must be equally hot. In case u might get burn..use water.

 

To update on this and FYI for those who encounter similar problem.

I went to Planet to check and found that my carb needles are screwed and caused carb to be flooded, hence the intermittent engine splattering/coughing at low rpm. Main jets and needles were replaced.

But another problem cropped up, intermittent sudden rpm drop and engine dies. I was using PA ignite and ah chong disconnected it. So far the problem is gone.

I was wondering if anyone who is using PA ever encounter this issue? Anyway to confirm the PA is unusable anymore?

[Q] I just bought a S4 spec 2 last week....FX plate with stock. The problem is I realise that after only 200km my fuel gauge start to blink which i assume that my tank is gonna empty soon. Shouldnt it last until 300+km?? Anyone have experienced it before or know whats wrong...

Most likely your low beam filament burnt out already. Need to change bulb or else high beam all the way.

Just go motor diam change the blub.

maybe the filament snap. sometime contact, sometimes not. just change bulb and not likely your wiring.
