Something you might want to consider if you want more power on your bike, do it on a consistent basis to see the effects..

Ride for the months in order to break-in the running in period. When you have felt enough of the bike's under-power, look into the mirror and tell yourself you want it to be slight more powerful, go and purchase a Full system.

Ride for another week and look into the mirror, telling yourself that you want more than what you have now. Drop in a FCR39mm MX Carb, see your bike launch faster than many other Stock DRZ.

Look yet again in the mirrors for the last time, tell yourself, you seriously need more power, buy athena 440cc BB Kit + Hot cams and have them installed. I am sure you will love your bike and not sell for the next 3-5 years.

With that power, your crappy 2pot piston caliper is not going to do the job, so you need full floating disc rotors, braided steel hose and either brembo master cylinder kit or 4 pot piston to absorb the power you have placed in.

Otherwise stick to the currently power you have so that your 2 pot piston will work well on your stock bike. That's my advice.:thumb:

The old one is Tri Oval.. the new one is Oval.. not exactly round like Delta..

my take is get the brakes upgrade first.. then with the stopping power, get all the power upgrades..

oh ya ... it's tri-oval ...

agree with u on the upgrading of safety features 1st ... follow by the power enhancement ...

:btw: like 2 check with u guys wat's the average FC like 4 those who've install FCR 39mm MX Carb with full system ...

Can be as good as 20 km/litre or 15 km/litre if you are too throttle happy. The FCR39MX comes with a fuel accelerator pump built in which squirts a jet of fuel into the intake when you twist the throttle open... faster and more twist equals more fuel.

The best worth the money power upgrade for a DRZ is an aftermarket full system exhaust and the FCR39 plus cutting the airbox to do the 3X3" mod. This 3 must come together for a 4 to 5 hp gain and a top speed close to or exceeding 170 KMH depending on your bike.

15-20km/litre?? hmm ... no wonder i only manage 2 gt an average of 15-17km/litre ... :giddy:

is it true tt by reducing the size of jetting will gt a better FC??

Ah Seng.

Just tell him what you want done on the bike or what you need and let him work.

He gets very agitated when people question him alot when he works on a bike coz its very distracting to him.

And yes... he's got quite a few aftermarket parts of the SM.

Go to him for wiring works, PAIR removal or tuning. He's good.

Plus loss of power and lots of backfiring. You will be running too lean.

The truth is... if you put on an FCR... good consumption should be the least of your priorities.
