Oh ok.. thanks Biting_point..

Can i ask what is the stock rear spocket then and also will it be very much slower for the pick up if changed to the 39 rear spocket cos i just love the strong pick up of a DRZ =) I'm looking that i'll be cruising at around 110 on highways..

I suggest you go buy the Husqvarna 610 if you want both pickup and ability to cruise at 110 KMH.

You are expecting alot out of a 398cc single cylinder. :faint:

you didnt mentioned Husky drinks more...??

haha..

with DRZ, 25km/L is easily achievable with good jettings and full system..

stock ratio is 15,41

which leads me to my next qn. is 16,39 possible? or 16 too big for the front liao?

i anyhow ride one.. sometime accelerate fast, sometimes slow.. but all my speeds are within SG's speed limits.. my FC average is 24km/L with the JD kit..

i didnt calculate during the Malacca trip for cruising speeds as most of us shared pump.. maybe the next one.. KL??? haha..

spocket ratios are easily calculated by taking the rear to be divided by the front.. the bigger it gets, the more pick up..

stock is 41/15 which is 2.73

mine is on 44/15 = 2.93

ET is 45/15 = 3

so if you wanna change to 39/16 = 2.43

you can get similar ratio for 36/15 = 2.4

but at 39/16, it's way too low..

you needa drag on all gears..

but of cuz it's real good for touring..

you might wanna try 39/15 first..

try playing with the rear spocket first. before touching the front, as front will greatly increase/decrease the ratio as it's the denominator..

anyway, i got a 14 Driven front spocket for sale.. quote me a price..

Am using 16 / 42...but thats for racing at PG. This combination gives me a top speed of 176 KMH down the back straight.

16T front can fit...but its really a close fit.

a FCR wth good jettings can do 18km/L.

you can try washing the carb first.. see if it improves..

but my fcr is only used less than 3000km need to wash??? :pity:

needa to screw at the rear fender to give it more support..

get H&B one or the rack off ebay.. much more stronger..

rack, got from LAB. $120. need to send to strengthen the welded joints as there's a part tht's very thin only

anyway, kept forgetting to tell you.. otw to Malacca,i can see that your whole box and rack is shaking..

you can always buy the universal base plate to fit on to other racks..

but advisable to get the specific model one.. H&B rack for DRZ should be selling at abt $220 with installation..

maybe Seng Kwang can do it at ard that price too.. as H&B ones uses steel.. SK is stainless steel.. but to do it at SK, you need to provide them with the box for them to custom fit it.. i saw them working on a DN-01, William just kept assembling and dismantling it to get the correct angle and fitting..
