Any1 using JD jets can share light on the FC n Performance as compared to FCR?

Posted

hmm.. if u`re lookin fer performance.. i`d say go fer the FCR.. f/c wise.. i tink shudn`t be much of a difference.. since u`re lookin in da aspects of performance.. f/c shud be da least of yr concerns.. ;)

thnks trial-sin..

hmm, i'm not lookin for performance..

jus that, i'm changing my pipe..

fr the oomph factor with regards to sound..

i understand that a change of jettings is required when changing to full system pipe.

IF the f/c with JD jets is gona be the same as FCR.

i think it's more bang for buck if i change to FCR.

hmm.. jd jet kit is arnd 140-60+ iirc.. consumption is slightly more den stock.. maybe say 20-22km/l..? in terms of performance.. i`d say better throttle response.. derz no requirement fer jd jettin kit wen re-tunin ur carb after installation of full system.. if i`m not wrong.. the jd jet kit just contains sum bigger fuel screws n pin jets.. can ask da expert regardin diz..

as fer fcr.. it has much much more better throttle response.. 2nd hand fcr2 can cost u abt 400+.. installation n tuning say another 100+ but lesser den 200.. f/c can be as high as 14-16km/l on the tracks.. or if u nvr whack da bike.. maybe 18-20km/l..

if u wana build up ur bike slowly fer track use.. i`d say jump onto da fcr.. buttttt..... my advise is to try da bike on da track wif a stock carby first.. c watz necessary to change den.. maybe u myte not nid to change da carb.. sprocket-gear ratios also plays an impt part.. ;)

hi, i m using my zee for transport too. i did my rejet at ahboy. if u running full system, ur stock jet will cause ur bike to run lean n have backfiring. FC is still quite gd. ard 24km/l. play with ur stock carb first. when u fully use what the stock carb can offer, then upgrade to fcr. always remember, power is nothing without control....start from handling first......

No Time To Think Of One

ahakz.. thx2~.. whr got humble..? hehe.. btw.. its gd to take thinz slow n easy.. so u know watz da capability of a stock drz.. den add in wats necessary first.. do not rush.. those unecessary ones can wait once u strike 4d or sumtin.. lolx..!

true2.. power is nothin w/o control.. i`ve learnt da hard way.. i didn`t start on a stock zee as mine was a 2nd hand.. had to tame it slowly.. not necesarily it has to be da fcr carb alone.. gear-sprocket ratios also play an impt role.. ;)

well, JD kit is the most recommended jetkit for DRZ, mentioned in TT..

by changing to aftermarket exhaust, your bike will run leaner, thus by changing to JD kit, you can tune the bike to run richer..

the key item in the kit is the pilot jet.. this controls the idling and low RPMs of the carb.. with this pilot jet, backfiring is reduced..

i had once tot of getting FCR once i start doing the bike.. but scraped the idea after i bought other parts.. for me, bling bling first, performance later..

i'm still tracking on my stock carb.. even for some others too.. i will slowly savour the performance upgrades.. not to jump the climb, walk, run cycle..

my FC for JD is abt 23-24km/L for highways.. lowest at 22km/L for city..

for performance, i suggest the following upgrades:

1) jetkit, airbox mod

2) exhaust

3) FCR, retune

4) yoshi CDI

5) RHC cams

6) big bore

1) can be done even before getting a exhaust to have better response and power..

5) and 6) best to do together to save on labour..

i'm still at step 2)..

cams~.. one of da most impt to change in da sm-model.. sm-model cams are pretty weak.. e-model cams works wonders fer me.. ;)

i maybe wanna sell my JD kit, still in package, haven install yet:(

maybe 18-20km/l..

wow, consider ok bah, so tempting

4) yoshi CDI

5) RHC cams

6) big bore

these is going to cost big bucks $$$, but i wondering how yoshi CDI improves on performance? u got any idea how much it cost?

yupz.. correct.. it just allows higher RPM.. maybe got twik the electronics a bit to allow more power to supply to sparkplug..

guess what, i just clocked 25.5km/L just now.. almost 90% highway at 80kph..
