Hi all

To answer some question, i bought it for 12800 2nd party and plate is FZ.

I also have a few questions to enquire,

firstly, the area where we grip our tank is pretty hot after riding for a while, is it normal?

When we top up our reserve fuel do we need to turn the fuel gauge to reserve?

There is no fuel gauge, are we supposed to estimate the fuel ourself?

Another thing is that my coolant reservoir below the rider seat is almost empty. Is it ok?

May i know also what is the best way to maximise my bike in terms of running in?

SOrry to ask a lot of questions. But i felt tt better ask than dunnoe.

Other than tt the bike is terribly oursomely e best ride i have ever had.

Thanks

the fuel tank is metal...metal conduct heat.

so it's normal for u to feel heat from the tank but it should not be scorching hot.

topping up petrol no need to turn to reserve.

use your trip meter to gauge. usually if you go up and down all the gears and you dun stay at a particular gear for too long, approximately you can travel about 140km to 150km before hitting the reserve.

the opaque tank underneath your seat is not the coolant reservoir. that's the overflow tank for the coolant. usually it's empty but there should be some coolant inside it after you have been riding for sometime. no cause for worries.

follow mototune method. ride it hard then do a oil change.

Hubs have to order. Might take a while. I reckon you're better off mail ordering. If not in a rush, order OEM hubs. They are quite well priced.

Rick might be able to help with the rims.

Axel bobbins I have heard of some people fitting them on the SM. Should fit an E as well I reckon.

Footpeg bobbins haven't seen anyone install those. Probably gotta mail order.

05 headlight is available on order basis. My friend ordered his locally.

If you're talking about the 470 Thumper Racing kit, I've read that it's unreliable. Nobody in Singapore I know stocks any big bore kits. The tested and proven to be reliable kit is the Millenium 450 kit.

Sigh... Everything also don't have and must order! What's new?

I do have lobang for the crash bobbins of DRZ SM, see pics below, can PM me for more details if interested.

>firstly, the area where we grip our tank is pretty hot after riding for a while, is it normal?

usual, dun worry

>When we top up our reserve fuel do we need to turn the fuel gauge to reserve?

Only switch to reserve when you run out of fuel, you got 20km left.

>There is no fuel gauge, are we supposed to estimate the fuel ourself?

Yes, around 100-150km per 7 litres/ 150 if you ride like a pussycat, 100km if you ride like a tiger

>Another thing is that my coolant reservoir below the rider seat is almost empty. Is it ok?

So long as can see some coolant. What is more important is there is sufficient colant in the radiator.

>May i know also what is the best way to maximise my bike in terms of running in?

Ride like a ****** cat and follow the run-in guide lines in the user manual. They are very clear.

>SOrry to ask a lot of questions. But i felt tt better ask than dunnoe.

Wait till you ride the KTM 950 SM, now that is an awesome ride

Suspension already too soft, why make more soft

Bike should be solid as rock all the way up to 120-130 kph, then only a little wobbly at 160 kph (mainly because it is too light).

Without knowing the age of your bike, Get your steering checked, is not enough pressure in the front tyre, is front wheel-bearing gone

I too had wobbly feeling...disappeared after putting in more air in my front tyre. Like Chris says, it should be rock steady at > 100km/h.

And mine is only a S, not SM
