hey all, was at a mech just now with a friend and he commented that i should add a power commander to the bike to the speed. also he was telling me that my low pick up was due to rs125 being a bike that performs well only in second gear. was wondering if what he said is true as i have really weak acceleration. However i do see other aprilians on the road pciking up really fast leaving me to smell the 2t smoke. any ideas why? im current riding rs125 09 model fully stock

if our bikes cant pick up well, den y alot of us bring it to track?

if our bikes can only go on 2nd gear, y can we wheelie when launching off at 1st gaer?

if you buy dat power commander, u'll see no diff and wanna sell it d nex day like d many in 'Garage Sale' forum.

And which shop would that be? I'm interested to know.. :)

The RS performs friggin' well only if u know ur bike performance. It does not only perform on the 2nd gear onwards. Our dear friend Izecubez popped the front wheel when he launch. Even Shaas_no1 pulled a GP wheelie before. :p Well, either ur co-ordination for clutch and throttle not proper, or ur bike tuning is way off. 2 pages before there's another fella commenting on how weak his acceleration was too. U don't need a power commander for better acceleration and speed. U just need ur bike properly tuned, change to 34mm carbs and an aftermarket exhaust. U'll feel a significant difference after just those 2 upgrades. Well, just my 2 cents. No offense man.

Bro I used to think tt aprilia has a lousy pickup and I keep asking the same qns as u. Until most of the pros here told me to play ard with the clutch until I got very use to the bike now. Loving it. Seriously dun waste money on power command. It's useless for our bike. Maybe we could meet up some day as I'm a noob to this bike as well.

Any one knows where got sell power one for RS125??

almost all bike shops sells them only problem is there no 110/70 front...u can get the rear 150 ...

when i first got my bike ,i dumped away the OEM Diablos and hitch up a 150 Power race Soft and a Power 1 front V-Profile,theres no 110 so i tot i try a 120/70...i did that on my Husqvarna SM125 and it was ok but on a RS125 ,not advisable..i cannot clear my back tyre ,leaving a tiny chicken strip at the rear..the front was even worst..there a huge chicken strip on both sides and scuffed in the middle and off centered...but u might wanna try 120/60 (not sure if they bring this size in)..i decided to ditch the tyres after 2 track session and decided to go for Dunlop Alpha 12s..I have use the Alpha 10s before and i must say it wears out pretty fast, taking a shot on the new A12 Medium..so far 2 track session and so far its a gem,I wont say it sticks as well as the Power 1s ..there are small steps out exiting corners but its managable...so for 110 front i would say the Alpha 12s is as good as they get..

point to note about Power 1s...the tyres is one sticky ***** when it gets up to temperature but when it gets worn or overheated ,they dont give any sign of a slip or slide ,it just goes...together with your bike and you...aargghh...

your stockie "prillia is restricted to pass thru some strict Euro test.theres a wild beast within waiting to be unleash, all u have to do is unlock the gates ...

now u know what needs to be done...so do it and welcome to the dark side... :p:P

i gona be getting ( or hoping to be getting. hopefully the pjme order goes through) the VHSB flatslide racing carb from pjme. Anyone has this one their bikes? Wana ask what jets/needle you guys use. Wana get a ballpark figure of the jet sizes for our climate/conditions so can order the right range of jets and if necessary, needles from pjme together wif the carb. Ive heard from a someone who got this that it reali is a bi**h to tune and they stock jet/needle were definitely off. problem is he got his carb installed at shop so he dosent noe what the jet and needle size used are.

some info, i've not started by bike for more than 1 year due to commitments in NS, but i'm done with NS and i am thinking of getting my rs to start again.

Why? Your mech is just lazy or is clueless on how to tune a 2-stroke bike properly. That is all.

Just open the carbie to find out. What's so hard about that? It's only a 5-minute job that requires nothing more than a flathead and Phillips screwdriver.

Just use a car/bike battery charger to recondition and recharge your battery. Safer and more effective. It will restore your battery state to almost as good as new. But do note you need to get a proper charger and use the A/C socket to do so. This will require removing the battery from your bike, also a 5 minute job with a size 6 hex allen key and Phillips screwdriver.

Believe nothing you hear; and only half of what you see.

Do or do not; there is no 'try'.

personified: what do you mean restricted. ive already snapped the bridge on the cdi. anything else i can do?

Aeom: i believe that my clutch control and throttle positionings are correct. have tried various ways to get the bike to pick up faster. for example remaining at the friction point whilst applying the throttle. am still trying to figure out the problem and the mechs at m*h are still the same clueless lot . am keen on a meet up too:D

Lacrimosae: Does that mean that my tuning on the bike is way off? should i get it down to do some proper tuning ? and i`ve read most of the posts here and am keen on doing some diy. however would feel safer doing it in the presence of some experts in case anything screws up i can at least holla. any diy's coming up?

Thanks all for offering insights to the power commander. nearly got duped into getting one.

Sorry I'm in camp for reservist for 3 weeks. Unless someone can pick me up from camp and send me back, I won't be conducting any DIY. Not in the near future.

oh man. was hoping to learn some stuff off you. been reading up at this forum months before i got my aprilia and was wanted to catch you on your free time to learn more about the bike. any idea whats the first thing i should change on my bike now? i dont need super high top end or something as i dont intend to track my bike. am looking for more of reliability rather than crazy speeds.

Priller07: the shop's in malaysia. didnt read the name properly as was with a friend who frequents him for top end servicing. just another qustion. Popping a wheelie on an rs125 stock verison is possible?

if it was my bike i would have done it in a heartbeat man. Problem is hes not reali a friend. juz someone i know who rides an rs and i met him a couple of times and we have chit chatted about our bikes on a few occasions. So to ask him if i can strip his bike and take out his carb, abit paiseh lah. and i dun think he would trust me to do that. lol

Is there anyone with extra screen bolt lying around? One of mine is missing and I am not sure whether this is cause of making my mirror to vibrate when I am travelling at 70 km/h and onwards.

You can order them from pjme, which incidentally have a mass order going on! Bahahaha the coincidence right? Right?

When the winds resist my impetus and sights become passing shadows. Every other sound is voided, all but the undeniable roar of my engine.

My physical vision recepts naught, but my mind is tranquil.

I see my inner soul.

Yeah I did. But it will take a while for them to arrive, isn't it? So here I am asking whether is a spare one to use temporarily. Haha.

some bros have already stated here...yr stockie pipes gotta go...

in fact i might be planning to start a package for turning a stock RS125 into a more useable road/track friendly machine.

my bike will be use as an example..geniune and keen owners will get to test ride my bike and feel the difference.

I tested her on the track 5 times since i got my bike a month ago n made improvement along the way,.. reliability is definately not an issue (as she been thru under some heavy abuse for 4 weeks) unless thru the owners negligence..

the package will come with the Arrows exhaust and big carbs along with the other list of mods.

On the road ,its a breeze to ride..

On the track, im still trying to get top end power (she's currently max out at 164km)

im still working out on the sums..stay tuned

hi ...popping a wheelie on any bike is possible...but dont wanna sound like a wet blanket, the RS 125 is a track based bike designed for circuit racing not stunts, get a supermoto ,they are designed for hooligan usage.. :p

and popping a wheelie at the wrong place,at the wrong time, say goodbye to yer hard earned bike license...

i seen friends popping wheelies and flip ,damaging the subframe and that cost a fortune...more than 10 % of the cost of yr bike not counting tail piece, tail lights etc etc
