My sentiments fall along the same line as vyruz, some organisation of information would help aplenty, however, I dont imagine myself sitting through hours or days scavenging through the thousands of posts and sorting them out.

What I advocate though is taking some effort to clarify through the convenient source technology has provided us with - search engines. Heck! Wikipedia and howstuffworks would at least provide a vague idea of what you are looking for.

These filtered many of my questions and when the information gets too technical or requires a professional appraisal and in worse cases I cannot understand the technical lingoes do I resort to asking. I have to say I am utmost grateful to the many whom have clarified my questions time and again

When the winds resist my impetus and sights become passing shadows. Every other sound is voided, all but the undeniable roar of my engine.

My physical vision recepts naught, but my mind is tranquil.

I see my inner soul.

Alright guys chill. I have to say I'm those type who dun have time to reach through 900 pages of post. Leave hse early for sch and come back late from work. Hope u guys can bear w me till I get familiarize with the bike. I Juz got back my bike from HKL. Working like a charm now.

Changed front tyre, wash and service carb, clutch skin, brake pads and did the normal servicing. Gotta admit it cost me a bomb.

Anyway, they have the new arrow pipe as well and it does fits my 06 rs. Not the bumblebee. $750 includes installation. Getting tt after I've save enough. Hopefully it does boost my pickup.

Ok guys...

I'm talking to a close friend with whom we co-ran and moderated a dedicated Aprilia forum.

The issues we faced were this:

- while our forum enjoyed global readership, ie we had emails from riders in Greece, Spain, UK and even Italy thanking us for compiling a comprehensive database on every topic there is, we had poor response from the local fraternity.

- when we are busy, no one else could moderate the forum.

- server space, bandwidth charges etc. Since this is a bike most riders use for a year before buying a larger bike, no one really wants to contribute $$ that goes to the maintenance of the forum, since membership will probably last 1 year. So the issue is how to charge members, a one-off fee, or an annual contribution?

We still have the SQL data and all the posts (including hi-res pics with detailed descriptions on DIY) backed up somewhere.

Now the question is, do we have enough interest here to get it going again?

2 things:

1. We need to charge a small fee for membership that goes to maintenance.

2. We need moderators.

Ideas, anyone?

PM me please. Thank you.

Believe nothing you hear; and only half of what you see.

Do or do not; there is no 'try'.

the shock looks ok but ask urself these very simple question:

Who can provide the spare parts in SG? Who can service the shock in Sg?

Good question. I guess can always ship back to elka. Or we can ask bros who use exotic shocks around here what their solution is to this. (looks at lawrence again)

I have..

HOW MUCH! pm me!

Wagghhhhh seems hellas lot of trouble to save a questionable amount of money.

Anyone has an idea where to get our indicator bulbs? They run in a series circuit and mine fused :(

with regards to the pipe, i will bravely say here(flame me if u want) that the chance of getting caught is very freaking low. Because reason one is that its known to be a legal pipe. Tp wont find fault. Ive ridden past/in front/behind of tp and stopped at road block and no probs at all. even drag the bike to 9k rpm when tp was behind me(didnt notice duno whr he come frm lol. lucky gear 2 i saw him in the mirror and my speed ony 70)

heres the catch. though i got my pipe from mah and i have the cert and all, i did not send the bike for inspection due to lazyness.

Personally if i were u guys, id rather save the 300 bucks ah. U wana say play safe and all, u see on the road hw many sp/kr/tzm/rxz with super noisy and clearly illegal pipes. Yet u dun see every single one of those bikes getting stopped all the time. Of course if money is not an issue then by all means go buy a legal one. but I for one would rather save that 300 and use it to get a 34mm carb or smth. juz my 2 cents.

Anyone out there did any modification to hang helmet on the bike?

Really dun like to carry helmet and walk ard. Anyone got any ideas?

The triangle metal casting where the pillon peg folds up to. I use a laptop lock to secure my full face if my bike is in sight, sometimes.

I don't really trust anything but my hands my helmet is crazily costly and was a gift.

I am using Wilber. It's not really exotic, it's made in Germany and Motovation (please note correct spelling, it's not 'motivation') is the official service centre for it.

I wouldn't get a brand of shock if there is no local servicing support for it.

Then please don't leave your helmet on your bike at all... I use an alarm disc rotor lock to lock my cheap helmet to my bike. I never leave my expensive helmets anywhere, locked or otherwise.

I haven't been stopped on the roads in a long time wonder where all the tp along upp. Bt Timah and bukit batok road went to, used to be routinely stopped...

Back to topic: play it safe, one fine is all it takes, avoid the hassle of removing and reinstalling the pipe for inspection and who's going to buy a 2nd hand illegal pipe probably chop you abit.

My friend got caught once on his birthday, initially they noticed the fused headlights, led to illegal polelights, and no silencer on pipe: total fine $600. Got off lucky though, fixed his silencer on the spot as ordered but had scalded fingers after.

I carry my helmet around, I hardly leave my cheap helmet on my bike, unless in reputable neighborhoods. The trouble of having no helmet 3am into the morning doesn't sit with me.

Just suggesting places where you can put it nic, disclaimer above.

P.s interesting lock system hmmm

From my experience(or my friends' rather) the common way your helmet gets stolen is for the strap leading up to the rings to be burnt/cut. For a one-use pillion helmet. as usually one would padlock their helmet through the rings.
