If I were you, I'd take my bike to one of our trusted shops (37 Motoring or Teck Thye) to look it over.

Finally pulled the trigger today and bought the Arrow full system with the titanium endcan. Purchased at $680 from the authorized dealer BikeTech21 on Dunlop St. Pics of the system still in the bag are attached. Ignore the large endcan in pic 1 - the Arrow is fully contained in the plastic bag.

If you're going to get one, BikeTech21 will need you to give them two copies of a printout from onemotoring.sg (log in using your Singpass) of your vehicle's details, and two copies of your IC front and back. If you forget to do this in advance, they'll get you to use the internet cafe right across the road. They're nice enough to let you see the exhaust in full, I guess to let you see that the item is in perfect condition.

Dedicate 45min to an hour at peak hours to get all documentation done at BikeTech21, although I'm sure it'll normally take no more than 15-20mins. You'll most likely deal with Muzzie, who is really friendly.

The exhaust will be delivered to my mech of choice sometime next week at my request. I walked away with the homologation certificate (to which the vehicle details printout and IC copy are attached), a standard letter from BikeTech21 for LTA inspection and a receipt. Pictures of the homologation certificate is attached in case you're wondering what it looks like. I understand at the LTA inspection they'll review the certificate, check the exhaust and issue me another certificate (of registration I expect). I will then need to return to BikeTech21 with a copy of that certificate for a free keychain.

I also bought a can of high-temperature black spray at $8.50 to protect the mild steel midpipe. The shop is along Jalan Besar across the road from GMax(don't remember which, but there are heaps that sell them).

I'll post further updates once the exhaust is installed and inspection is completed.

Very useful information. Any idea if I buy a 2nd hand arrow system with cert from private seller, since the cert has the seller's IC and his bike's information, do I need to go to LTA and update mine?..

You have to go biketech21 to do some paperwork, then go over to LTA with the pipe installed for inspection.

Very good post vyruz

have been hearing alot of people asking me to get a 34 mm carb instead of using the 28mm carb. however, after doing some research online, all i found was very varied theroretical concepts and ideas on the improvements it does to the bike and air fuel ratio mixture. i understand that many aprilia users have changed their stock 28mm carb to the after market ones. however, what i`d like to ask is the difference it makes as compared to the stock ones. Does it have significant improvements to the performance? and are there any drawbacks? thanks in advance for the help.

also, congrats to you vyrus on your new exhaust. am drooling for one now but still saving up for it. damn these ****ing expensive metal pipes.

er guys need abit of help here, i was playing on old upper thomson road, and i think my front calipers mounting bolts were loose but i didnt notice, and i was riding pretty hard(for me lol) and both my bolts came off, wondered if you all knew what size the fron caliper bolts are.

Also my engine has been REALLY loud and wondering if theres a possibility my autolube is spoilt, and theres no lube running in the pistons, or could the loudness come from somewhere else, as in it got louder and louder and now i know theres definitely an issue here and it will get bad if i continue riding. its so freaking loud people on the streets stare at me when i just start the damn thing. Zzz

But should disaster be my fate,

the 34mm carb makes a world of a difference. pair that with an aftermarket pipe and u will feel like ur riding a different machine. hell, even just a change of pipe and u can feel alot of diff alr. its a good investment.

No fuel gauge, there's a digital display for voltmeter.

So how do u guys gauge ur fc?

Is there a trip meter?

Yes there's a trip meter. And there'll be a light when the gas is low.

oh man. was hoping to learn some stuff off you. been reading up at this forum months before i got my aprilia and was wanted to catch you on your free time to learn more about the bike. any idea whats the first thing i should change on my bike now? i dont need super high top end or something as i dont intend to track my bike. am looking for more of reliability rather than crazy speeds.

What's that? You don't want top speed? Then please f-off.

My tuning is purely for FSA only. (Full Speed Ahead!)

Okok... I kid, I kid... Actually, I tuned my bike to run as lean as possible, so I managed to squeeze 30-plus km/L but still can do 2:00 runs at PG without change to the carb settings. Impossible? No, just takes time and effort. Neither of which you will get from a mech, only yourself.

  MaxS said:
Priller07: the shop's in malaysia. didnt read the name properly as was with a friend who frequents him for top end servicing. just another qustion. Popping a wheelie on an rs125 stock verison is possible?

Yes. But based on personal experience, it's not about pulling the wheelies that is difficult, it's the landing that's tricky. You may damage your front suspension on a heavy landing.

  mesab0ogie said:
hmmm. now where have i heard this line before. hahahaha

if it was my bike i would have done it in a heartbeat man. Problem is hes not reali a friend. juz someone i know who rides an rs and i met him a couple of times and we have chit chatted about our bikes on a few occasions. So to ask him if i can strip his bike and take out his carb, abit paiseh lah. and i dun think he would trust me to do that. lol

Just quoting you, bro!

Oh, strange for a biker to not know about his own bike... That's like not knowing your girlfriend's bra size.

  personified said:
errr..what is WOT?

iits nothing to do with the size le...u juz gotta trust yer bike and believe in yourself...

matter of fact is.... its safer to be on the gas then off it... when on the gas,yer rear shocks are compressed n yer rear tyre are digging into the tarmac and u have traction, the front may feel light but its not an issue as long as u are guilding her thru the bends n not commanding (meaning gripping the handles tight and trying to steer her) her thru it

Yup! For all trackies interested to cut down on your timing, PG Turn 2 must be taken at WOT, usually at 160-170kph.

Keep those itchy fingers off the brakes!

any ideas how much it`ll cost just for the installation?

more than willing to learn. am still waiting for someone to start a diy. basic stuff like carb cleaning , valve cleaning and basic servicing would be something i really wanna learn.

Ask me again when I am working for Teck Thye. Alternatively, you can grow a d1ck and call them to ask for pricing.

As for DIY, keep waiting. :thumb: I like your passive attitude.

hi guys long time no see, been really busy with work/school. just wondering which tires would you guys recommend? i need something that has a good compromise of wet/dry cause i use my bike daily, as well as something that wouldnt wear out fast, causeee im kinda dry lol

Hard to make recommendations with such parameters. It's like asking for Macbook Air for the price of under-$700 netbooks.

Perhaps Metzeler M3? Decent handling in the wet, and great in dry conditions. $250 for a pair.

Read the last 4 pages. I've explained why for the umpteenth time.

Exhaust loud = too much 2T, exhaust muffler packing saturated with oil and doesn't muffle the noise.

Engine loud = just a simple case of "oh-sh1t-you're-f*cked" conrod or conrod bearings are damaged.

Believe nothing you hear; and only half of what you see.

Do or do not; there is no 'try'.
