They clock those times on unmodifed stock standard RS125?

Wow! The best I could do was like 2.07s**

Looks like I got a long way to go still.

Nope, not stock of course. But essentially still an RS125 (meaning rotax motor, a race exhaust pipe, porting, big carb, misc modifications etc).

Totally stock (with a race pipe only) RS125 you'll be looking at 1:55 for the better riders.

Cheers~

PS: I'm sure you can do a much better timing then 2:07**... All you need to do is to adapt to the small-cc-two-stroke way of riding. Its a different animal all together, so can't be ridden like a 1litre.

My RS125 I spend about S$7k on it and part of it, nearly S$4K is for repair in the 10mths I ride it. Depends what u really want. RS125 is quite a high maintenence bike unless u buy a brand new bike which of course, at least wont give u much problems for the 1st year. So I give up and then bought a RS250.

Monthly expenses for the RS125 :

1) Gear oil change $25 / 2000km

2) Wash Valve $15 / 2000km or can DIY also

3) Wash Carb $28 / 5000km or can DIY also

4) 2T must use good ones - about $20-$28 per 40 Litre of petrol.

5) Tyre cost about $220-$300 per pair and changed about every 8000km

6) Petrol consumption about 18-25 km/litre

7) Insurrance --- depends on age

8) Brake pads to be changed about 5000km and about $110 per change

9) Chain must be lubed n taken care of every 500km

10) Battery must be changed every year

11) Spark plugs $9 at Ah boy to be changed every mth

other possible damages :

all based on estimated prices.......

1) Speedo cable : $28

2) Valve : $230

3) Carb : $120-$220

4) Piston : $174

5) Con-rod : $400+

6) Complete Over-haul labour charge : $180

7) Top Over-haul charge : $80

8) Wheel bearings : $25 per piece

9) Chain : $90-$150

10) Clutch cable : $28

In every bike, there are good things and bad things about it, RS125 maintenance is a bit higher than most other bikes but it does gives the rider a sense of security and satisfaction. To be the owner, I believe that he should have a knowledge of the possible repair n maintenance cost of the bike, so that he will have no regrets or blaming anyone after obtaining the bike.

Wait till I achieve my objective.... I will be back with a more powerful engine and a more sexy bike......

Walau! How to play with you now? You don't ride RS125 anymore.

I know I can still borrow my friend's bike to go to PG coz my name is in the insurance until August 07 and I know she will lend it to me.

When I come back for home leave in April... you find one RS125 then we can start the wayang of the 5 Lap Race at PG again. I really had a blast the last time.

Take care and ride safe.

Raptor,

I'll still be around if you need some comic relief on the track.

Though next time I'll be sure not to take you on the inside of Turn 2 at full speed.

I lost my nerve after recovering from that close shave and couldnt keep up after.

Fine, thanks. Just that life here can be abit lonely at times.

Am having thoughts of getting a 125 or 250 for track purposes when I am done with my assignment.

Can't help it coz I fell in love with the RS125 at PG. Hmmmm... mebbe Spiderman might be kind enough to let me try his 250 on the track one of these days.

haha... its ok as long as u dun crash it... when you come back just ask...
