Yo buggers,

Today replace my disc brake front 2 disc($195X2) and rear 1 disc($175) including labour at HKL. After 7 years of usage.

Those buggers who went for the cameron highlands trip, please check your brake pads for wears.

Buy a waterproof gps, it's useful for your trip. Trust me, I've encountered it :)

Yo boyBulance,

Either you can buy an expensive GPS waterproof from garmin or a cheap GPS from 'garmin' and a separate waterproof ram casing. It's all depends on the depth of your pocket ;]

Team Diversion, on my way home from work just now, I saw:

A convoy of about 25-30 bikes, of different models n classes, eg Sports bikes, BMW tourers, super4s n even 2B bikes...

And they are riding in CLOSE formation!!! They conquered the 2nd lane of Thomson Road towards city at about 10pm just now... At first, I thought they were BBDC trainees led by BBDC instructors... That was how impressive they were!!!!

Unfortunately, I was on the opposite side of the road, so I was not able to speak to them...

They maintained a tight, close formation which looked both professional n impressive that I so wanted to join their convoy!!!

This is the PERFECT example, PERFECT role model of what Team Diversion should emulate...

Hi Buggers,

I send my bike to a workshop for~ valve clearance adjustment~ if required replace timing chain and timing chain tensioner. As the bike already cross the 100K kilometers mark.

Those buggers; whose bike cross the 100k-KM mark in their odometer need to do the valve clearance adjustment according to the bikes' manual.

If you still ride with the valve clearance gap more then specific allowance given it may cause other damages like valve bend in serious cases to over wear/tear on the double (2)cams itself ;(

A proper and regular servicing to this bike aka(iron horse) will give you another 10 years of carefree rides.

As this bikes' engine was designed in such away that it's basic inline four system is made to last longer then most complicated bikes on the market out there.

Valve clearance is a must as it improve the bikes' fuel consumption and Horse Power (pick up and power). like new again :)

Hi B.A,

The price range is around $400+ if tensioner, shims and timing chain need to be change; otherwise it's inside $300+ which including the labour charge that is around $130.

Hi Pekingman,

I send to North Link "Sin Boon" where Nasir did his valve clearance.

So far any buggers here ever used 'Agip fully synthetic engine oil 20w-40w' selling a litre at $28/- need your feed back.

Thanks SG for the info, mine divvy will be hitting 100k in 6mths time, so just preparing for it.

I'm currently using Chex9000 10-50W($18.00/litre) after reading from the forum how good it is. My feedback is not bad, engine quiet and smooth. Fuel consumption went down a bit(for every litre, it gives me 1km less), probably it is a 50W oil. I'll probably go back to a 40W in my next oil change, if chex9000 has a 40W!! I've tried Motorex 10-40W, mm.....ok lah($19.00/litre), almost the same as chex9000.

I've even tried car lube just for the sake of answering my curiosity! Read bikers from overseas that car lube can be used, but ensure there is no friction reducer or else clutch slip lah!! The one(fully syn) I used initially was ok..... but after 3k... the sound starts coming out, I drained it out and it was like watery!!!So in the end I stick to oil for motorcycle. Maybe it was designed for high rpm in bike vs car!!

Cheers and let us know your feedback on Agip!!!!

Hi Kazky,

They deal with big bikes too. I have seen many big bikes serviced there, my friend overhaul his engine recently. look for Ah hai (mechanic)he is good. He explain and show the parts he is going to replace and spell out roughly the final cost.

Good thing is that the workshop is in the neighbourhood.

Hi Pekingman,

My advise is try to stick to one brand if possible the reason is: each brands have their own additives which effects the engine performance and seals.

Car engine oil and bikes engine oil are the same only to look out for the anti slip additive which effect the those bikes with wet clutch system like most bikes but this does not effect those bike with dry clutches. Mobil 1, i used on my st11 before and ever attended a course on engine oil conduct by Mobil.

As for the question., about Agip Oil it is hard to find the 20-50w Motul fully synthectic oil and a litre is selling at crazy price of $30 to $33+...

You must know that our engine is air cool and running temperature at much higher then those water cooled bikes running. So a thicker viscosity helps to withstand and last longer engine oil change intervals.

Play around (15-20w) to 50w

And Cheers to you too- Happy New Year.

By watching at the torture test, the content in the box will be really very very fragile and important to the rider :)

Key Locking issue aside, i think this box can do more than the basic mounting on the rear rack. Hmmm, for the anti-mine and demolition specialist maybe........

Dear Team Diversion,

I would like to propose a convoy lead of a couple of Diversion 900 bikes for my wedding on the 26th Feb 2011, Sat. May I know who can I relate to in regards to this proposal. The convoy will be a great turn up of dirtbikers/ scramblres & would like the Diversion 900 to be the honour to lead the whole convoy.

Kindly Advice.

Best Regards,

Hi BlackAngel,

There are two holes at the front end at both side for locking with pad locks, so no locking issues.

This cases can get locally but 2x the price then getting it from Ebay itself, there are few colours to choose from.
