I beg to differ..

the downside of XR is actually the air cooled engine.. easily overheat..

whereas WR had newer technologies and it's EFI.

no doubt it's much lighter than DRZ..

but there's no replacement for displacement..

Yamaha WR250X Specs

Suzuki DRZ400SM Specs

almost $6k more ex otr than DRZ but with less cc..

i would get it if i got $$$ to spare.

but i can settle on my DRZ for now..

Let's just say 6k extra gets you a ride that is not so common on the road. No offense but I prefer being unique.

Furthermore, EFI is easier to tune plus its much lighter than the Zee. But one man's meat is another man's poison as they say. Downside? Small fuel tank of 7litre.

As for price, if you are hardworking enough, you can actually find a WR250X for a good price. I've got mine for $15k everything in on the road.

i agree on the unique part... really too much DRZ on the road (although i would love to have 1)

read before from supermoto junkie that the WR250X is more nimble than the DRZ. Power wise i think it will loose out, but 250cc vs 400cc??? the WR250X has a sixth gear and is lighter by the way.

15k otr for me as i was qouted...

everyone's bike is unique to its owner..

WR is more nimble because it's lighter by 10kgs..

Every uncle is riding a drz400 yeah, throng through your carparks you can probably spot one in every 3 blocks. Its replacing the uncle Super 4s rapidly! You wont see performance on this bike unless you spend good money on it.

For me I would still think that Yamaha would be the best ride but comes with high initial cost, however you could wait about 1 to 2 years and you'd probably see one on garage sales.

XR400 would be a good no frills bike, low maintenance, or recession proof bike like someone had mentioned earlier on his ad lol. However air-cooled thus, might be not as powerful. However if you're really lazy to wash your bike, lubricate, etc etc.. etc.. take the xr400 it would be almost indestructible.
