BAD NEWS.....

I am supposed to collect my bike today ...When everything was done properly with the brake and tyres being serviced, i rode the bike for another Test...Guess what happen???????

THE ENGINE STALL!!!!!!!! Wah kaoz!!!! And i can't get the bike to start back up again....the exhaust kept backfiring.... Then the meachanic told me that the Starter relay got problems. After around half an hour, i give the bike another crank and was surprised that it fired up. But within 2 minutes of ride, it stall again.... What the hell.....

Since the bike is still under warrenty, the meachanic will be sending it to Minerva tomolo and get the problem settled.....That means i have to wait again...OMG...what a day....I have paid and advance of 1K today just to bring back the Keys and the manual....And guess what i am now back on my K5 600 again...This time round with the Brake disc being change to stock and sliders removed....Luckily i still got my exhaust with me....

Sianzzzz

 :weep: :sian: :giddy:  :faint:

How did it stall? While moving off? Or it stalled by itself when idling?

When starting the bike, don't trottle it, just press the starter once and it will crank itself. If it fails to start, wait about 10 seconds before tying again.

And, starter relay has nothing to do with backfiring, most probably is due to poor tuning. But on such a new bike??

It stalled while i was clutching in and changing to a lower gear!!! When i manage to get it started again, i cant close the throttle, i have to maintain at 3000rpm...The moment i close only, i stalled again... Each time i start the bike, i am only able to ride for only 2 minutes and the problems comes again...

But the funny thing is, i have tested ridden for the pass 2 days, and nothing is wrong with it....

Sounds serious, better get Eugene to fix it.

Most important of all, do NOT pay for the repairs! It should run like perfect. Its not even fully run in yet!

When you've sorted out your bike, lets meetup at PG~! Theres nothing like riding a Ducati Superbike on the track, where its born to be :D

Well, a V-twin engine requires, or rather favours a different riding style. You can still ride it like an Inline4 though, but the trick is you can use a lower gear in many situations, whereas the 600 will just be waiting for revs.

But then again, a screaming, howling Inline4 does have its appeal too. Give and take la :thumb:

Don't worry, I'm sure your bike will be fine.

Just ride it as per normal, don't worry about it.

And get the shop to change the engine oil.

As its air cooled is it ok to ride in slow trafic?

Yup. Just start the ignition, wait for the 749logo to dissappear, then press the starter button, let it do its thing.

It will crank for 5 seconds automatically. If it doesn't start, it will not start. Try turning the trottle fully, that might reset the trottle position sensor if its stuck, then try again.

A properly tuned 749/999 just starts by itself, noneed to trottle, it will self compensate for cold starts. Mine starts immediately after resting for a week.

Mine usually will not start at the first time. Second attempt usually fire it up regardless of enviroment temperature factor. Very rarely third attempt is require, but it does happen one or twice.

Also not too sure is the 748 design not to fire up the first time?

After the bike start, no throttle is require at all.

not many sg riders who own the 749 but i did hear of serious stalling issues pertaining to the 749 only, check out other ducati forums, like clubdesmo.com or ducati.ms, im sure u might find some answers there.

cheers!

Current rides: Ducati 999 and X9 500 SL
