other then minevra n diy, where do u guys do ur oil change at? any shops to intro?

Any shop can do your oil change, but do go to a reputable one.

Btw, Testastretta riders, did you notice if theres an oil screen? I had one on my monster, but there wasn't one on my SBK. I unscrewed the big allen bolt thingy near the oil level window, but there wasn't a screen behind it..

Ducati SBKs are known to have excellent handling, esp the 748/749 series, with better power/chassis balance.

I'm sure you'd break it in no time, maybe even get into low 1:40s! The onboard laptimer would help.

Btw, a friend of mine taught me how to use it already. I can show you guys if you want. Its pretty cool :thumb:

I highly recommend Excel Cycle in Kakit Bukit other than Minerva... Even though they are not the authorised Dealer for Ducati, they do have experience in it...Cos they are dealing in brands like Cagiva, Ducati and MV Agusta.... Look for the chief meachanic there, (Ah Boon)....He should be able to solve problems for U.... A number of older Ducati riders frequent his service, and that include me.....

Date: 8th April

Timing: 1900H

Venue: TBA

Occassion: MotoGP Live on ESPN Ch 24.

Any place that has SCV/Easy Access?

I *think* there's a kopi shop opp. the usual one that I go to in Simpang Bedok that has SCV access. Cannot confirm yet but if anyone is interested, I can ask the shop owner whether can tune in to Ch24 on Sunday from 1900H for the MotoGP event and reserve some seats.

Anyone has an alternative location/plan?

Can't think of any road bike shops at the moment.

Do note that just becoz you're paying more doesn't mean that you'll get quality service. It just means the shop is charging more. (leave it for kopi-tiam chat next time)

Find a mechanic who treats u like a friend, offers sound advise and does a good job irregardless of type of work. (be it a simple job or a big job)

Hold the right menu button, then turn on the ignition. Release immediately after the welcome screen dissappears (749 - EU for you), else you might reset the laptimes.

It shows top speed, top RPM, over-rev occurances, lap number and laptime. REcords up to 9mins 59 seconds only though, so you can't "time" your trip to malacca. :D

Or is it a Track session in the day, then follow by MotoGP Viewing together in the evening????:cheer:

Just a guideline.

Had my belts, stock clutch basket and clutch plates changed at abt 20,000km.

$150 for pair of belts, $250 for the basket(steel) and $250 for the plates(stock steel) Parts bought from Minerva.

At about 37,000km ~ 40,000km mark, had the belts replaced, valve clearance done, sprocket/chain replacement done at Minerva, the Ducati agent.

Belt replacements, valve clearance will set you back by abt $750 +/- inclusive of parts and labour. Also did a lot of other things as well.

Front/Rear Sprocket/chain cost me $400++..... Suggest you buy from other source and DIY. (look at max. $300 for AFAM sprocket/chain)

Also bought a aftermarket clutch basket and aluminium clutch plates cos the one I bought at 20,000km is gone.

Anyway, critical thing is the belt. Look at 10,000km inspection and replacement if necessary. 20,000km or 2 year lifespan replace belt irregardless.

Guideline

Every 20,000km belt replacements or 2 year whichever comes first.

Every 40,000km valve clearance. (20,000km if you're really picky)

Dry clutch... look at 15,000 ~ 20,000km lifespan for stock parts.

Rest like brake pads,sprocket/chain, coolant etc etc is pretty standard like Japanese bikes.

Hi all,

My name is Mark and I ride a yellow 900SS. I am keen for a track practice session this Saturday as well and hope to meet some fellow Ducati riders there. I have been to PG a few times and don't mind leading those who are unsure of the way there.

I will be going via 2nd link and will be at the Gelang Patah R&R Esso station from 8am to 8.30am. Aiming to make the 10am to 11am slot. Do let me know if you are coming and I will look out for you at Esso.
