Ah...oh yes!!! Make me all the more wanna get it, now I heard your reply  But this bike would be wet clutch, no more ice cream bike sound  Unless I convert, which is likely :cheeky:

It was rumoured to be launched at USD$13k machine price, around only USD$2k cheaper than the 1098. White is pretty, save me the effort to even spray the race fairings if I get one

Good luck to you guys! Bother Mary or Mr Teo everyday, ha ha :cheeky:

In that case i might as well drop the mind off buying 1098 cause 848 will be launch soon in town right?Got to call up to Mary & ask her liao....

Actually regarding the recalls or technical glitches, I'm kind of thinking 848 would also suffer the same fate as the 1098. It's still a different engine afterall. I'm not sure about the time when it's gonna launch but rumors are speculating mid 2008 here.

I am waiting for the official press release too, but anyways, me not in a hurry.

Ahhh, if it was a red 748, it used to be me, chasing some of my frens on their Hayabusa. But definately not on burms, my bike is too hot for that "cool" look. Chasing may not be a good way to describe...maybe I would say following.

The 999 wearing open face? Now Ducati very pop....and hope more goes to the track, not Orchard Gudang

If you're using the race filters, keep them very clean and lightly oiled, or else the bike will never idle or start easily.

Hey Ah Neo...

Since you rode a wet and dry clutch Duc, could you give an insight on the performance difference? Nitty gritty things like clutch feel, slippage feel, maintenance, wear and tear difference, etc.

Thanks.

Yup.. open face... Actually he was revving loudly beside the Busa, on Alexandra road towards CTE... thats the updated news.

So Far i've met a couple of 999, two 1098 and Tricolore 1098 at track

One is a 400cc air cooled 4 valve one is 998cc liquid cooled 8 valve.., quite abit of difference...

But I honestly can't tell the difference. Compared to my ZX14 though, the 999's clutch is alot more grabby and difficult to slip, no thanks to the very tall 1st gear too.

I never really notice clutch performance, cos I rarely use the clutch anyway, except when moving off. Changing gears don't count cos all you do is disengage and the gearbox does the rest.

For my 999, the open clutch cover is not just incredibly cool, unique and noisy, but it also means i can use an air gun and blow out the clutch dust every now and then. It grabs abit less after clearing the dust. Durability wise I can't comment, cos I didn't ride my bike long enough to wear it out.

Ha ha, it's stupid to pit against a hyper sports on the straights.....

Yup, it's always the same few guys. 1098TC is Mark. 999 I know there's Marcus.

Hmm...okay. Generally I should expect more slippage then. Thanks! The 848 might just sound like a SV1000S then

Hi Duke Riders,i found out the pricing in Europe & US,so i assumed if Mary bring in the 848,the convert price should be less than 30k if im not wrong..

The spec sheet according to my source are as follows: 137bhp and 95Nm. Less expensive components than the 1098, but still 3 kilos lighter.

Colours: Red and White, abandoning the traditional yellow we have gotten used to in the 749.

It will cost 13.500€ (Europe) and $12.900 in the US.

Ducati are planning to have it in the shops (Europe) by mid-December 2007 after the unveiling in Milan at the EICMA show.
