hey xr... welcome to the other section of the forum... did you get your bike already? talking oil is like talking religion... so you'll get all kinds of 'truth'.

the dry clutch doesn't care what oil you use... no oil touches it ;)

personally I like amsoil in my hyper, but others may have other prefs. if you change at 1k and 2.5k you should be fine. you can take your own oil to minerva and they won't complain. i dont' like the castrol they use so I bring my own. or for simple oil changes you can go to racewerks ubi - they know ducs.

ahh.. col.. yup got it abt a week ago.. haha.. thks bro.. cos i usually go for BELRAY but upon reading the back of bottle.. it states there ".... for utilising of wet clutch..." and duc recommend shell.. so just to be sure lah =)

Mr Ahmad bin Lispa, whose family was featured in the first season of MediaCorp Channel 5's RenovAID, was killed in a freak accident on 16 July 2010.

If you had followed the news, a crane which was mounted on a lorry smashed into the double-decker bus that Mr Ahmad was on, killing him on the spot.

He left behind his wife and four sons. One of his son was dignosed with kidney failure while the other also battled with health problem. His youngest son is still in primary school and Mr Ahmad has been the sole breadwinner of his family.

Even when Mr Ahmad was supporting the family, they could barely make ends meet, A typical meal for them comprise cabbage soup and a single tin of sardine with rice. With a monthly income of about $1000, Mr Ahmad had to put in extra hours of OT to provide for his family. Now that he is gone, the burden fell on his wife, Mdm Rokiah.

I am writing to appeal for your support to raise fund for the family. With the little that we can give, we may be able to help ease the burden of Mdm Rokiah for some time. Like many of you, I do not know Mr Ahmad's family personally but the plight of his wife and children has touched my heart.

If you are keen to join me for the fund raising, let's meet at our usual place, KFC Kallang on 21 Aug @ 1300hr. We will do a monetary collection, followed by a ride to the family house in Bedok to hand the donations over to Mdm Rokiah.

calling all ducati brader(s)

2)if u 're in a rush,hope u can still ride in,do your contribution,take a few fotos & u can be on yr way,no problem @ all.

3)if u really cannot make it but wondering about how to do yor part,u can , pays to me , thru my bank account!

Valentino Rossi barred from riding new YamahaYamaha will ban Valentino Rossi from riding its 2011 prototype machine in Brno later this month.

Rossi’s multi-million pound switch to Ducati will be confirmed immediately after the Czech Republic Grand Prix on August 15.

And as a result, the Italian will be barred from testing an early development YZR-M1 for next year on the Monday after the Brno clash.

His crew, led by Australian Jerry Burgess, will also be banned from working on the new bike and will not be privy to any technical details about the upgraded factory YZR-M1.

Rossi’s Ducati deal, exclusively revealed by MCN at the end of June, will see him depart with his crew in hot pursuit.

Yamaha boss Lin Jarvis told MCN, said: “It is pretty obvious if there is at any stage a test of a 2011 prototype it will be with a rider that will be with us in 2011.”

Jarvis conveyed an air of resignation about Rossi’s departure, which had seemed unthinkable just two months ago when he declared his desire to finish his career with the Japanese factory.

Jarvis said: “Brno is the kind of timing we are comfortable with. We originally said we wanted to have clarity with our future plans by the summer break but that has not quite worked out. You have your own contacts within this world but from my position I can’t say anything until Brno.”

Ducati is still awaiting permission from Yamaha for Rossi to make his Bologna factory debut immediately after the final race in Valencia.

It is traditional for teams to release departing riders early from their contracts to begin testing for a rival squad before their contracts have expired. Most contracts end on December 31, but most riders are released immediately after the final race.

One notable exception was when Rossi quit Honda at the end of 2003. HRC refused to release him early to test for Yamaha.

Ducati boss Alessandro Cicognani said: “We would like to work out a solution with Yamaha if a situation arises like this. The relationship between Valentino and Honda was very bad at the end. Now he has been with together with Yamaha for a long time in what has been a victorious wedding. I think it is acceptable that Yamaha would release Valentino given what he’s given them in the last seven years.”

Ducati has already approved Casey Stoner’s release to test for Honda at the Valencia test in early November Jarvis added: “I think it is far too early to talk about that.”

]Tissot 2010 T-Race

Nicky Hayden Limited Edition

Thursday, September 9, 2010

TISSOT will be having a road show at Raffles City, from 9 – 15 September 2010.

DUCATI Singapore (MINERVA) will put on display a replica of Nicky Hayden 848. TISSOT will be taking this opportunity to launch the moto gp 2010 & nicky hayden t-race watches.both are 2010 limited edition respectively

tissot brands follow things like Formula One and other types of motor sports that people in the US don't really pay attention to. Tissot has been partnered with NASCAR (click here to read about their Danica Patrick watch), showing that it was quite interested to align itself with racing events that Americans might actually be interested it. In watch world gospel, "to be associated with popular sport, is to enjoy increased sales." In the same spirit, here is the newest version of the Tissot T-Race Nicky Hayden watch for 2010. The latest limited edition piece for the star motorcycle racer.

Limited to 4999 pieces, the T-Race Nicky Hayden 2010 is an interesting piece that shows how the T-Race is maturing gracefully. Before Tissot redoes the design (which I think will come soon), this is their stock watch used as a base for its motor sports limited edition pieces. The case bezel and crown guard is meant to resemble a brake disc and rotor. The bezel actually rotates and can be used to indicate the GMT time when set properly. While the case is "unique looking" it is actually quite comfortable.

The steel case here is two tone with a black segment for the bezel structure and the moving, hinged lugs that allow the watch to be more comfortable. The strap isn't rubber, but silicone actually, and nice in red. Though silicone does have the tendency to get dirty (but they can be washed with soap and water). The watch after all is water resistant enough to be washed. Inside the watch is a Swiss ETA quartz chronograph movement. The crystal over the dial is sapphire

Nicky Hayden is a young, American, star motorcycle racer.doing the MotoGP circuit. His lucky number 69 with star logo will be placed on the caseback of the watch, and red and black are "his colors " (especially red). The Tissot T-Race Nicky Hayden watch comes in a motorcycle helmet style box that is quite cool. Great - another watch you simply can't throw away.

*price,i heard ppl asking?

dun worri abt it,git down & chk it out , bring yr camera, & post it here!

if u need to noe, means u CANNOT afford it.

chiao.

Ducati confirm Valentino Rossi signing

Ducati has made official the worst kept secret in MotoGP racing by confirming it has captured Valentino Rossi on a big money two-year deal.

(•Valentino Rossi: 'My work at Yamaha is finished’)

As was exclusively revealed by MCN back in late June, the reigning world champion has penned a deal to partner Nicky Hayden next season and he will spearhead Ducati’s assault on the first 1000cc MotoGP world championship in 2012.•

(Yamaha confirm Valentino Rossi departure)

Tonight’s flurry of announcements made no reference to Rossi’s crew joining him in quitting Yamaha at the end of the season.

But it is widely expected that the seven-times premier class world champion will take his entire crew to Ducati, led by Australian Jerry Burgess.

Ducati Motor Holding president Gabriele Del Torchio said: “We are delighted to announce that Valentino Rossi will be with us from 2011. He is a paragon of excellence in the world of motorcycling, coherent with our Italian company, which is a standard-bearer for “made in Italy” excellence. These are key values for success in technology, design and sportsmanship. In addition to the strong and passionate intent of both parties, this agreement has been made possible by the committed support of our shareholder Investindustrial and all the sponsors associated with the Ducati Marlboro Team, sponsors which have believed in this opportunity and share and support our choices.”

Ducati Corse technical guru Filippo Preziosi, said he was thrilled to have capture Rossi’s signature following the departure of 2007 world champion Casey Stoner to Honda.

He said: “Firstly, Valentino is a great fan of motorcycles and so it has always been a pleasure for me to listen his opinions. Until the Valencia GP he will remain a competitor, one so great that he has always given a special value to our victories, but as soon as he rides the Ducati for the first time, we will work together on every single detail that will develop a bike capable of showing his huge talent. Working with Valentino is one of the most exciting things for every engineer and it’s good to know we will have this great opportunity next season

DESMODROMIC ANIMATION.

Valentino Rossi was born in Urbino, and he was still a child when the family moved to Tavullia. Son of Graziano Rossi, a former motorcycle racer, he first began riding at a very young age. Rossi's first racing love was go-karts.However, the high cost of racing karts led to the decision to race minimoto exclusively,In 1993, with help from his father, Virginio Ferrari, Claudio Castiglioni and Claudio Lusuardi (who ran the official Cagiva Sport Production team), he race a Cagiva Mito 125cc motorcycle,

The Australian GP at Phillip Island in 2003 is considered by many observers to be one of Rossi's greatest career moments due to unique circumstances. After being given a 10-second penalty for overtaking during a yellow flag due to a crash by Ducati rider Troy Bayliss, front runner Rossi proceeded to pull away from the rest of the field, eventually finishing more than 15 seconds ahead, more than enough to cancel out the penalty and win the race.

On June 8, 2009, Valentino Rossi rode a Yamaha around the famous Isle of Man TT Course in an exhibition lap along-side fellow Italian motorcycle legend Giacomo Agostini, in what was called 'The Lap of the Gods'

On 5 June 2010 at Rossi's home GP at Mugello, Rossi crashed in the second free practice session, around the Biondetti corner, at around 120 mph (190 km/h). Rossi suffered a displaced compound fracture of his right tibia, and after post-surgical care close to his home in the hospital at Cattolica, it was diagnosed that he was likely to be out for most of the season. It was the first time that Rossi had missed a race in his Grand Prix careerValentino Rossi has had numerous nicknames during his racing career. His first prominent nickname was "Rossifumi." Rossi explained the etymology of this nickname as a reference and tribute to fellow rider Norifumi Abe.

His next nickname appeared some time around his days racing in the 250 cc World Championship. The nickname "Valentinik" was a reference to the Italian Donald Duck superhero, "Paperinik

Since his dominance in 500 cc and MotoGP, Rossi has used the nickname "The Doctor."

Two theories prevail as to why Rossi is entitled to "The Doctor." One is that Rossi adopted the nickname upon having earned a degree, which in Italy entitles one to use the title "Doctor.

in Italy, The Doctor is a name you give to someone for respect, it's very important, The Doctor... important".Although Valentino often jokes that the name arrived because in Italy, Rossi is a common surname for Doctors.

He has always raced with the number #46 in his motorcycle grand prix career. Rossi has stated that the original inspiration for this choice of number was the Japanese "wild card" racer Norifumi Abe whom he saw on television speeding past much more seasoned riders in a wet race. He later found out that it was the number his father had raced with in the first of his 3 grand prix career wins.

Typically, a World Championship winner is awarded the #1 sticker for the next season. However, in a homage to Barry Sheene (who was the first rider of the modern era to keep the same number, #7), Rossi has stayed with the now-famous #46 throughout his career.Though Rossi won the MotoGP title seven times he never put the number 1 on his motorcycle representing the World Champion, instead staying with his famous "46".

"The Tribe of the Chihuahua,"The text on his helmet refers to the name of his group of friends: and the letters WLF on his leathers stand for "Viva La Figa," Italian for "Long Live the *****" He has so far escaped any sanctions or ultimatums that he remove the letters because the "W" in "WLF" represents the two "V"s in "ViVa". Equally obvious is his success at escaping any disciplinary action from the FIM or Dorna for having the letters so brazenly on the front neck area of his leathers. He traditionally also incorporates his favorite color (fluorescent yellow) into his leather designs.

Fellow motorcycle racer and former team mate Colin Edwards, as well as some TV journalists have often referred to him as the goat(greatest of all time)Colin Edwards says this in the film 'Faster'.

Rossi tested the Ferrari Formula 1 car in 2006 on January 31, February 1, and February 2 at Valencia. The first test saw Rossi spin out on the damp track into the gravel trap, ending his day. On the second day, he posted the ninth fastest time of fifteen drivers, approximately one second behind Michael Schumacher, who himself was third fastest. Rossi lapped faster than seasoned drivers Red Bull Racing's Mark Webber and David Coulthard and Toyota F1's Jarno Trulli. On the final day of testing, Rossi was just a little more than a half second behind Schumacher's best time.Schumacher hailed Rossi as having immense talent and said he would be perfectly capable of moving to Formula One and being competitive immediately.

Beyond his interest in F1, Rossi's strong passion is for rallying. In Rossi's youth one of his heroes was WRC Champion Colin McRae. Rally legend McRae taught Rossi the basics of driving a rally car.

In January 2010, Rossi said that when he retired from motorcycle racing, he hoped to move into rallying. "There are not many changes in a man's body between 22 and 34 so I still have some time left. I would consider shifting to cars, probably rallying, after that before I finally decide to take it easy … I know F1 would've been easier but by the time I finish MotoGP, I will be too old for F1.

Valentino Rossi is a very superstitious person and his pre-ride rituals are well known. On a race day, he will always watch the beginning of the 125cc race to see how long the starting lights remain lit before going out at the start of the race. Prior to riding (whether racing, qualifying, or practice), he will start his personal ritual by stopping about 2 metres from his bike, bending over and reaching for his boots. Then, when arriving at his bike, he will crouch down and hold the right-side foot-peg, with his head bowed. In an interview, Rossi said "It’s just a moment to focus and ‘talk’ to my bike, like moving from one place to the next."He adjusts the fit of his leathers by standing straight up on the foot-pegs, whilst riding the pit-lane before the start of race or practice.

According to Sports Illustrated, Rossi is one of the highest earning sports personalities in the world, having earned an estimated $34 million in 2007. In 2009 Forbes ranked Rossi as number nine among the world's highest-paid athletes having earned an estimated $35 million in the past year.

Rossi tries to keep his personal life out of the public eye as much as possible, though he makes no secret of his fondness for Italian football club Inter Milan. After winning his ninth World title in October 2009, Inter Milan congratulated Rossi on their official website

1198 not being replaced until 2012, so still a couple (ok 12-18 months) left in the 1198 range, wouldn't want to wait that long...

just upgraded from 1098 to 1198, definately worth it! :-)

It doesn't matter what the question is, the answer is more power!
