Cos after the long straight they are much harder on the brakes before the turn - causing the bike's nose to dive more and the rear end almost weightless, therefore putting their leg down, lowers the CG by a fraction, adds slightly more mass and pressure on the rear tire so that they do not lose traction on the rear tire and to keep the rear tire planted on the tarmac. Hope that explains it. ^_^

I read an interview with Stoner, and another with Rossi - they both can't quite explain why but they say it helps them brake harder and later. Not tried it myself, clearly not going fast enough or braking late enough.

Thanks for the explaination guys! That really helps. The commentator said they put leg down to feel the wetness of the track as the rain was coming down.... Back a few yrs, they dun ride with 1 leg down, dun look so great but what the heck if it goes faster!

Every time, i ride the bike. Termi with open clutch just rulez. I dont think i can make do with other pipes already. hehehehehehehe...hmmmmm...Luckily i have a transport bike. Now the hypie only comes out late in the night...................

cant agree more! What if open clutch is also ruled as illegal??? Just thinking aloud...

.....speechless....

hahahaha! He's D Man!

Thanks! It's good to be back...the prices tend to be more or less the same regardless of the model, or so i've noticed, so i think your info is a good indication.

Wow zards are legal?!??!? Is there a singapore dealer? I love the look of zards, and the sound is pretty sick too. IMO they are a nicer overall package than termis (omg gonna kena attack now lol). If they had a street legal 996 system i would buy it in a heartbeat. But i didnt see anything on their website which only covers the newer models

Just in case anyone is wondering, i just came back from bike21 to check out the arrow systems. They have a bunch of pipes, even for the older bikes. both race and street models. The guy there is checking up to see whether the street end cans are legal in singapore for my application and will get back to me. Pricing 2K-2.4K. Some systems include midpipes as well and are still legal despite that

Will see what the akrapovic options are maybe tomorrow or friday

The arrow and akra end cans for 916/996/998 series is a bit longer than the Termis. Will alter the look at the rear. Some people like it.... some don't.

Yeah, the ones that originally came with the bike:) hehe! I think will be tough finding lta approved pipes for such an old model.. t28 should be able to shed some light

i strongly advise caution when dealing with Choy from adventureonwheels.

Sounds like you have a bad experience with them before?

Looks like they have a bunch of selection for moto products.

Zard sounds interesting but not sure if the sound are as melodic as Termi...

One more duke adding on to the list caught by LTA. I was riding to work this morning ard 0745 on my monster with high mount termi. Along sembawang rd, saw the TP at the opp lane. He make a u-turn and gave me a good chase when i saw the disco light flashing. I just act blur and pretend surpris that termi was illegal. He said only hypermotard can fit termis, all other ducati with termi are illegal. He gave me 4 hrs to go to yishun vicom for inspection. He also warns me that its another offence if i skip the inspection. He took afew pictures on my pipes, integrated taillight and no. Plate. He said he will normally escot rider to the inspection center or call for tow truck. Lucky me wearing uniform that he spare me afew hours.

Went home immediately and change to stock pipe. Zoom back to yishun for inspection and passed. Then saw the same TP escotting a harley with screaming eagle pipes. I think they will be stopping every ducati and harley For info, i just passed my annual inspection 3 months ago on the termi pipe. Wat the f@$&.

So quickly went

Hi there! I'm the guy who got your bike :) How are you doing? Still have the G&G exhaust installed on the bike. Like the sound so much that I can't bear to switch to stock... Been thinking of getting a street legal aftermarket exhaust to be on the safe side since I ride the bike everyday.

Good thing the G&G looks like stock pipes from afar haha!

wow! S2R is a beast of a Monster! I tot you'll be getting a normal Monster.....Cant wait to see it bro!

how does the TP know your bike is on termis?

Termi got a cute sticker that is recognisable from a mile, CF cans looks way different from the silver stock cans, sounds bloody loud, and almost every Ducati wears them! Not that hard to spot. Plus since they are on a witch hunt, they must have studied how witches look like???
