ducati's, like all bikes, wear but i highly doubt they tear :) gratz on your new ownership. I love every moment riding my SF.

There are few punters in this forum who are au fait with the 1098, am sure they'll give you good advice. btw, shouldn't you be asking that question before you purchase the bike rather than after?

Oh trust me, i've come acrossed many ducati owners whom do not know the very basic requirement for maintenance and treat it just like a jap bike and send their bikes to none specialised mechanics.

I know of an ex m400 owner whom rode ard for practically 4 years and never once did a valve clearance or belt change. And he was a daily rider.

Thats y i suppose we say that owning a Ducati is all about eDUCATIon...

Many of the guys here swear by raymond at Bike Harbour. I opted to service at Minerva eventually because Raymond is apparently quite overworked so no point to stress him out I guess. I did check out racewerks as well but the quotations they gave me were much higher than Minerva, so personally I'd rather go to the agent. Minerva was actually CHEAPER. I was shocked, but ok.

For my 12k service,

I replaced

- Clutch plates (by right should be at 24k, but in SG's stop start traffic wearing out at 12k is not uncommon)

- Clutch basket

and did valve clearance

I ordered the clutch plates from ebay, clutch basket from Minerva and my total expenditure was 1.7k. If you get everything from Minerva, you'll need to fork out another 200 bucks more. About 1.9k. You can reduce cost to about 1.5k if you get your clutch basket from ebay too.

For the 24k servicing, you'll need to throw in a timing belt too. Around 100-200 depending on whether you get from ebay or minerva. What's your mileage now?

For normal servicing such as oil/coolant change, tbh I think anywhere can do it. Just go to your trusted mech or a convenient mech or DIY. Those are no more expensive than a jap bike. For anything related to engine or drivetrain though, I'd definitely want to be going back to a Duc specialist.

For my 24K servicing, i did at tachyon. Somewhere behind tampines safra. Saw a few ducati there and ddecided to enquire since my servicing is due. Total i paid 1.2K. And job was completed the next day.

Ride there is abit difficult to arrange lah. haha..

Anyway, i posted the video on Minerva's facebook wall. here's the reply..

"Ducati Singapore - Keen to go? If we have enough participants, maybe we can organise a Ducati Singapore group package? Do get feedback and let us know :)"

So let's see how it goes. :)

ps: I think at 0:28 of the video above would have sparked most of the interest for all of us here. :p confirm got ppl pause at 0:28

Wow that's really cheap. How was the workmanship? Everytime I go to Minerva I feel nervous because of the location

Michael cheong. Guru for troubleshooting for ducati. But not advisable to go to him unless u would like to test your patience.

Personally, i go to raymond. But i've had some work done by the racewerks ubi team (currently no where to be found) and their work is top notch. Kinda feels like when u send ur car back to agent to service i suppose.

At the end of the day i suppose its a qns of ehom u are comfortable with.
