Besides, I'm tired of hearing snide remarks about me riding a Duke...

Hey bro!!!

What I did MOST of the time is to directly told them the disadvantages of buying the duke, namely, the one which I own.......things like spare parts expensive, labour costs like mad, very hot to ride in town, sickening bike in traffic holdups, backaches, difficclt to U Turn, how the 04 and later Jap 600s are kicking my a55 on the straights even when they are newbie rider on track.

Common answer I get is "Then why you buy it???" And I would tell them it's a passion, and the desire to own and ride an Italian Marque for what the bike is as a whole. They would understand that they could never come on par for my passion for my Duke and stop naming me as "pouser", "Too much money", or whatever.....

Telling a Jap bike rider all the good things of our Italian toys seems to piss them off, thinking Italian bike riders are just plain stuck ups and showoffs. For such an experience, I recommend having a chat with Eug *cough* :D U know what I mean.

Consider the 749s...... :lovestruck: I like it very much.....easier to be crazy with it and not get bitten as easily by the 999s :cheeky:

Sorry, I'm not riding a 749, but I'm hoping I get a chance in future.....

Well well.....work is work, passion is passion......you know I'm in RSAF, can't expect me to fly a chopper around town eh??? :faint:

As long as you dun bad mouth your products without facts (though you still shouldn't, ha ha!!!), I think your boss have no rights to tell you what you wanna do with your money and life.......or you just make them feel stupid by saying "Oh, I bought this bike to find it's shortcomings over the Jap bikes so I can do my job better to promote our company's products....." :cheeky: That's good, so more ppl will buy Jap bikes, leaving us crazy Italian bike lovers alone

Its a case of less is more. It has the same chassis and geometry as the bigger 999s, but with slightly less power, so i'm sure the bike would be more fun to ride, esp on the track :thumb:

The new 749Dark is a darn good deal.

Looks more like he took off one brake disc.

The only Ducati with rim mounted brakes is the Multistrada. :thumb:

Neo got it right in a nutshell.....a bike with a tad less power does train the rider with less fears.....and in the hands of an expert, the 749 should not run much slower than the 1000cc at a track like PG......I yet to see a 749 in PG. Anyone did???

I only know a fren of mine clock high 50s on his 748 (Only brake hoses and magnesium rims mod). Not very fast, but fast enuff to kick some 1000cc still. The feeling is like beating a 600cc using a PGM. I know this feeling.....the feeling of getting beaten  Kana makan by a RVF and CBR400RR in PG for a few laps.....they (riders) are damn fast, riding their 400s to the max while I'm only tapping less than 50% of my bike. :cheeky:

Hmm, off topic abit, you guys wanna try Apple Strudel at Bugis this Saturday? Quite a centralised place. If we're all cool i'll go and ask the manager whether we can get some good discounts, and reserve parking lot + tables for us. :thumb:

What would I give to have a ride on one of these...... :p

Interestingly, look at the lower right fairing, seems like the forward cylinder's exhaust ports are there, not routed to the underseat.

Haha.. imagine going for dinner in a helicopter.

Well, true lah what you said... In fact, some who know that I ride a Duke, I'd tell them for a fact that the maintenance for a RSV is gonna be much lower.

In fact, sometimes I wish the Duke has something like the Aprilia (pneumatic clutch) or the TL1000R (back torque limiter).

Well, I've always wanted to ride a Duke since I got my license. So it's just kinda just to fulfill a wish before I get old. In time, maybe I'll change over to a Triumph if budget allows. Really smitten by the Thruxtons and Bonnevilles.
