Weekend is my family day, how I wish I could join you guys..

Drove pass and saw a few of U, but couldn't stop to say hello as cars are piling up behind me and my little one was sound asleep.

Think it will be good if it is a weekday gathering, said around 8pm. :thumb:

Yah, man.

How about a weekday, after work gathering too?

Becoz i know of some who drives to work but only rides their bike on weekends. When will be our next outing? So coming Sat is out? By the way, have u guys think of a place to hang out?

easy2findme down. Accident at Katong. Traffic lights were red; all cars were stopped. Cruising on the extreme left lane when passenger suddenly opened the car door. Hit car door and fell awkwardly. Multiple factures on 3 fingers. I think crushed by bike handle when it landed on his left hand. Warded in SGH Ward 75 Room 11.

That's sad news. Anyone got his number? Can pm me please?

Neo, cant seem to send stuff to your message folder, so here goes my reply..

tuning? theres no way it couldve been remapped as its not a pc3 ecu. there are 2 possible scenarios, either its a defective ecu or its not the ecu that came with the termis(it could be on the stock ecu now). also ensure the front cylinder has the proper header (that would be the header without a cat built in). how to see for that? if it has a cat, the header would have a cut out section in the middle. did u install anything ino the termis, like a baffle? such restrictions may require remapping.

yes, 4 valvers are really hot. and if the bike idles for a minute or so after riding, its bound to reach 100. the most it will go is 104 and both fans kick in and when it goes to 101, one will stop. If it really bothers u, get water wetter. its coolent without anti freeze it it works better than normal coolant in our climate.

sad to hear that. hope the dude recovers asap. But theres a big blow for him, fractured fingers could mean not participating in the SEA games.

I'm gonna change to Maxima tomorrow. Its not as "pure distilled watery" as water wetter, but it leaves a slight residue if theres a leak.

The stock ECU with me now. As far as I know we have the same setup. Cans, midpipe, ECU and filters. Eugene will sort out the tuning next week, get the belts changed too. My guess is its either the TPS or TBs out of sync.

Starting it is a big headache too, sometimes it just gives off very horrible noises and refuses to start. I need to learn to proper technique. Oh yes, is it possible to start the bike if it stalls on the move? Its rather embarassing, but I clutched in all the way, still no go from the starter.

Anyway, the engine is simply intoxicating! :thumb: How in the world do you guys resist "opening her up"....

ahh..moving off, gotta get used to it. requires more clutch slip and no sudden blipping. throttle control has to be smooth. another thing is, keep off vpower. that sh*t sucks! When u start btw, just press the starter once, no need to hold. and dont rush between restarts. wait a few secs before restarting, otherwise there would be a loud 'kunk' from the starter

when u stall, immediately engage to neutral and start. remember to clutch in whenever u start. there are false neutrals, though its quite rare. sorry bro theres no other way. its a safety feature that prevents u from starting your bike while in gear. this important feature prevents from accidental mishaps if say u start ure bike while unknowingly in gear and not clutching in. it'll move forward and drop!

and remember, wave an apologetic gesture to the poor cabby uncles behind. heh heh :thumb:

Yea, the only thing I don't like is moving off. The clutch gets icky after awhile too, maybe the open cover would help.

I did clutch in fully and hit the starter, no go. I think it needs a new battery anyway, if only I can hook it up to a battery tender.

no diff whether its open or not. what i know will help is a clutch slave cylinder from STM. dude, u gotta be in neutral to start, not in gear.

and dont rush restarts. give a few seconds before restarting.

Yup, i wait for the voltage to go above 13 first.

It does start in gear, with the clutch fully in. I'll ride it around, maybe try some injector cleaners first, see if it clears up. Around 2krpms she runs horribly.

its very sensitive to fueling. trust me on this. vpower is higher octane with additives, this gives more power, but what we need when moving off is lower octane, so that the pistons compress slightly less before firing. with higher octane, its asking the 2 poor pistons to work harder to acheive higher compression. this equates to a rougher idle i feel and when theres not enough clutch slip, at a really low rpm when moving off, the bike will stall. i guess the higher compression needed is asking too much. il4s dont have this problem coz they have 4 much smaller pistons doing the work and its evenly spread out.

i swear by 95 now. it suits the bike best.

Anyway, 999S are hot items now. Minerva sold like 3, yes, 3 of them S versions this month, partly thanks to Loris Capirossi.

Spanking new, with the priceless "new bike" smell.
