hey flowers, DOC , & mark fellow Ducatist , thanks for the wonderful time at the track , it was FUN , only wish was more Dukes have been there, then it will be a sight !!!! DOC , you really good on the Monster man , I timed you at 2.01 , not bad !!! very impressive & I guess you were so relax & not giving the full works , guess you might do 1.55 if you push a little ha!! then again why bother , it was fun , I really might want to consider a Monster cos the 916 in it's race replica prone position is breaking my back, guess grand papa getting old , boy I had to rest the whole of next day , anyone keen to take over my baby ???? It's got so much TLC that I even spray heat resistant paint and coated it with metal foil tape on the inside of the fairings to prevent heat from hardenning the fairing !!!

Boy, you are FIRED... you are not doing your job as a "Moving Road Block".. you are moving way too fast to be effective.

So I have appointed myself as the official moving road block for the time being.

Awesome... looks radically beautiful... only the way the italian know how to make it

Looks like track capable too... Smokeypipe (Yup, He ain't heavy, He's my BRO!!)... looks like this might be right up your alley after the 916... way better looking than the Multistrada (OK.. don't be mad people... it's just my opinion... diff strokes for diff folks...)

I find it very pretty too, just that I dun like the signal lights by the side of the knuckle guards....you know, mortard is still scrams afterall, the handle bar being so long......squeeze around in our traffic and JB, the signal lights sure gone.

And yup, Duc claims this bike trackable....I mean, at least I would bring it to the track too, but I know nothing about sliding a mortard, so I'll be damn scared, ha ha....

After all the spotlight on Paul Smart's victory, heres a nice, detailed article on Mike Hailwood's legendary comeback to the Isle of man TT.

In short, after taking an 11 year break from the TT, and 7 year break from riding any motorcycle race, he took the Ducati 900F1 racer to victory.

Because he had broken his foot, the footpegs had to be lowered. This caused him to destroy his right boot, wearing his little toe down to the bone.

Steve Wynne, the person responsible for preparing the motorcycle, should also receive credit. The race winning bike was based on the street going 900SS.

http://www.ducati.ms/pp/data/2/5060Hailwood.jpg

Interesting note, the color scheme was actually to replicate the main sponsor, Castrol, copied from a can of Castrol oil. But the Ducati guys are happy to note the similarities with the tricolore Ducati scheme anyway. The Mike Hailwood 900SS Replica sold like 7000 units, bailing the company out of near bankruptcy.

Good article, for those interested in Ducati History. :thumb:

Eek....so he broke his leg previously, and then race to grind away a "pinkie" toe???

:giddy:

He sure give up lots of things to race.....
