thanks bro, ill get it fix asap.

btw kinda curious how does a cluth plate looks like? haha. where does it reside in the engine?

see the attached image.. E06 CLUTCH PACK.jpg they are a series of alternating plates of friction material plates (parts 6 and 7) and metal plates (parts 8)but the ones u will be replacing will be the friction plates that would be worn..

u can look at the below video for your own interest..

Hi guys,

i've 3 questions on my mind not sure if anyone can answer:

1. Recently i've removed my spark plug to check to see what was the problem behind losing power, and i found that the one corner of the spark plug insulator was burnt off and some of the white stuff even got on the bent part of the electrode.

can someone comment on whether is due to an over lean condition or improper gapping of my spark plug before installation?

2. which is the air fuel mixture screw i should adjust below, A or B?

i've been trying to adjust screw A to adjust my carb.

3. i've been adjusting screw A (as referenced above in question 2) and it decreases in idling when i turn it clockwise and increases in idling when i turn it anticlockwise, either way from the original setting.

does this original setting means that it was too lean or too rich? if it was too rich, does the damage on spark plug make sense?

thanks in advance for giving your opinions on this!!

Turn the screw in = Richer, engine goes slower

Turn out the screw = Leaner, engine goes faster

Stock setting = 1/2 way. Just turn the screw out all the way, until it drops out, then screw it back in all the way, counting the number of turns for Phantom should be around 12-13 turns. After that, turn out 1/2 way which is 6 rounds.

so i assume i got the correct screw (screw A)? that means i was running rich all along? if so how come my insulator so white and it even burnt off? isnt it supposed to be lean condition?

got back my phantom from koon today,

changed clutch plate, clutch pressure plate and the metal plate inside.

Koon say the previous mechanic didnt installed the original plate inside and the clutch plate were quite worn.

The ride back home was smooth, bike feels more power and can easily hit 80/90km with gear 5. :D

but still got some small vibration ringss at high speed maybe but not coming from the engine area.

eh. mxtrading.com not working leh.. ill oil change myself once i find the correct size spanner for my drain plug.. its bigger than 22'!

and if the oil flow so slow at room temp, isnt it going to take a longer time for the engine to warm up with a slower flow rate through the oil pump?

the front rating would be a trade off i guess.. and i think im turning this thread into eo discussion sia..o_O

looks good.. where u got it from?

Dear All,

Last Sat, I tried to open the cover for the front sproket but I noticed the top screw is "faulty", I only able to unscrew the bottom one. Anyone know if I can get the top screw removed and replaced? Pls kindly advice. Thank you.

The tools I used could not properly locked in the nut properly... When I unscrewed, the tools could not "grip" the nut properly :(

means rounded alr. go to bike shop as them to remove and replace the bolt.

You test test lor, screw it in more and ride for a few days, then see if the spark plug changes to light brown.

thanks for your answer on this!! my broken insulator where the electrode is exposed turns black and the intact one turned lightly brown after screwing it in screw A! guess it was running rich all along!

given the hot weather nowadays though, would you adjust it when its hot during the day or at night? i felt the difference as usually ride in early morning or late night 11+pm.. den suddenly engine runs fierce and "dry" when i decide to venture out in the afternn time!

Dats still bad. I was close to 100kg wif 3 boxes and ride the same way u do. Yet i can still get 33km/l. Something is nt right. I suspect cud be ur carb either dirty or nt tuned properly.

I agree with naim.. just for comparison sake I get consistently 34km/l with either shell 95 or v power. . but of cos I ride at 90-100kmh usually when i weigh 65kg.. on days with heavy city traffic conditions I hit 33km/l..

or maybe the way we measure different? I divide distance travel from last fuel top up, with amount of fuel to top up to full tank at the next fill up.. usually before reserve at 300-320km mark.

carb not tune properly is refering to the screw driver thingy?

ya i divided with the distance travelled with the amount topped up.
