try the cheapest option first : change EO lor.. maybe urs nt the ryt viscosity or too old alr... rmb.. even though all of us ride phantoms, all r still different bikes and different characteristics.. some bikes like Brand A engine oil, but it performs like crap on another phantom...

May I know what is the VOLT METER for?

 

It is use to show your battery voltl age and charging voltage .. If it drop from normal 12v and 14v ..up nred to redo something ie.change battery or repair the chatging circuit.

i love my ezzyoiler

Arguable but it may be a step for earlier detection (tell tale signs) on electical problems be it the battery,rectifier circuit etc.

Hi guys, i tot of buyin a phantom. But i do hav some doubts that need to be help frm u guys. 1) hw much is to renew the coe? 2) issit worth to buy a phantom nw as phantom itself is v old already 3) thrs no 1st hand phantom in market ya? 4) can the handle bar change to straight bar? 5) hw much it cost to spray matt black, whole bike. 6) can the exhaust b change to legal one that mke louder n nicer then stock pipe?

1) depending on prevailing quota premium, roughly 2k

 

2) for a transport bike... YES of course

 

3) probably, but I won't know for sure

 

4) sure why not, although the "stockist" at the inspection centres might find trouble with you

 

5) not sure...

 

6) sorry no legal aftermarket endcan for phantoms

+- 2 k. If scrap, can get back pro rated

An overhaul cost $400 odd. Change the wear and tear parts when you take over.

3) thrs no 1st hand phantom in market ya?

Replaced by honda tiger. same engine

4) can the handle bar change to straight bar?

Yes. first motors $120.

5) hw much it cost to spray matt black, whole bike.

$2-300

It sounds good as it is. No legal aftermarket pipes. Also, tp is familliar with your bike. Can try drilling the baffles. Fine is $100.

Bro, I dont think you can call Tiger as the replacement for phantom. Tiger is the bike for Indonesian market. Phantom is for Thai market. I wonder what the Thai's are riding now instead of the phantom. When I last went to Phuket, I could see only kup kias everywhere,haha

i saw alot of ksr, ninja 250r and cbr 250 (d new one) in Phuket wen i went last mth... 4 days thr, i tink i only saw like 3 phantoms?

hi everyone, i got few questions on how to tune phantom carb.

first question- is the air-intake screw on the left side of the carb and fuel screw on the right side of the carb?

second question- to adjust the air intake screw, do i have to close fully(clockwise) then turn out(anti-clockwise) about 1.5-2 turns?

last question-if i tune the fuel screw, do i have to tune the air screw too? what is the ideal ratio?

here is hw they do it on a pulsar

.. d same.. adjust at the lever thr.. u want to tighten the cable in (lesser freeplay = ur lever will be less loose) ..

 

start d engine, then engage gear, n slowly release the clutch lever, n feel whr is the biting boint.. it shud not be too near to ur handlebar (difficult to engage gear) nor too far away from u (clutch wear out fast).. play ard wif d gears, n make sure its easy to engage Neutral... if still cannot, let me knw n i can give u d nxt step to try..

Hi to Phantom Riders,

Just renewed my COE (LTA), my bike covered 61k kM already and everything started to give problems. According to my friend, Phantom reaching 60k everythings need to change.

Any advice, please help me. What to change and where I can get a good mechanic. Many mechanic guess, and change the wrong parts.

wat kind of problems are you facing? best is tell us here 1st then see if can rectify cheaply, instead of change things unnecessarily..

 

doesn't mean 60k must change everyting wat.. if its not broken, don fix it! if u worried, send to trustworthy mechanic like ah chong at Planet.. any major work, i will only trust him with it... ask him to test ur bike..

Hi, I just bought TA200. My bike very hard to switch to neutral gear. Others gear no problem.

What is the problem.

There is a trick to do this. I think I read it somewhere here on the forum or somewhere else and I should really thank that person.

 

Whenever its hard to change gear to bring to neutral, for example you have were on higher gear and you have slowed down but haven't lowered gear. When you come to a halt, it might be difficult to change gear and come to neutral.

 

1 simple solution, dont force the gear change, just try once if it doesn't happen, revv the throttle a bit and then it will happen.

 

This problem had caused a lot of frustration when I bought my phantom initially, now I know the trick :cheeky:
