Hi bros, there is sometimes a "thark" sound from the engine when I turn off the power.. is this normal?

i would guess that its normal....

 

there's also the ticking sound which is the cool down of the pipe

The magnetic coil was faulty... :s Now after change, not only no longer need to push start, can start really easily now! :D

Can you do me a big favour and tune your engine idle to 1400 and upload the sound? I wanna tune my idle to 1400 but no tachometer so hope to listen to your sound and tune... :s

I have one, but im not sure if idling speed does affect the rpm? Plus, are you sure u would be able to differentiate the sound??

Ya I believe it directly affects From the manual the optimal idle speed is 1400 which it says is about 100rpm. Maybe from sound cannot exact match to high accuracy but I believe will be a very close match... If you can please upload in any sound format that will be awesome and I will appreciate it tremendously more than you can imagine..

I'll see what I can do.. But there is a difference in the RPM during cold start (at around 1160-1200) and when it's warm (after i ride to destination at 1400). Which one you want?

I think when its warm at 1400, because then I can tune when my engine is warm. Thanks a lot bro weian!

anyway, couldnt tune it to be at exactly 1400, nearest i got was 1380 and the a little more turn is 1440.

Hey guys need your help! my meter stopped working. Speedo and distance not working, but temp gauge still okay. Is it a simple fix?

 

The speedo cable either got loose or is broken.... to check open up your speedo be unscrewing the 2 screws. After unscrewing, must push forward first then can lift up the speedo.

 

I'm riding an old pre Custom-4 Phantom TA200 so don't have temp guage. But the speedo cable should be the same. Mine's connected to the center of the speedo. If really not sure just trace the cable from the wheel. Now unscrew the securing nut using your fingers. Then check the metal cable inside. If can pull out means it's broken. Otherwise maybe its just loose.

Tank cover? Do you mean the outer most metal that we can touch?

 

If you meant that then no, it's the actual fuel tank itself. Or at least I think so because I remove before and it's one piece.
