Been explained before somewhere in the Phantom Forum by me.

You might want to look through the Sticky section at the top of the Phantom subforum, there is a section on how to DIY too.

But in case you really cannot find it. Here are the steps.

Step 1. Take out seat. (Remove the 3 screws first)

Step 2. Uncover the rubber flap covering the battery.

Step 3. Remove the wires + /- (Red and Black)

Step 4. Unhook the rubber strap that secures the battery to the battery bracket.

Step 5. Lift up the battery from the battery mounting bracket.

Assuming you are going on long a trip, to K.L or farther, you might as well ask the motor shop to change the battery when you change the engine oil.

Also, when you purchase the battery from the shop, usually the shop can install the new battery for you cheaply, some even do it for free!

Hi ...i was just wondering if any of you guys out there have problems with engaging gears? it seems a hassle for me to change to neutral at times. The gear shifter is as though its stuck for good and i have to ref my engine so that i can shift to neutral. also at times it doesnt really engage to 1st gear and i would have to release and clutch in again and it will lock at gear 1. any solutions?

hmmm... try adjusting your clutch cable first? it sounds like you can't fully clutch in...

Seen many mentions about this bike shop owner >> ah koon.

Where's his shop located and what's the name of his shop? Does he sell crash bars and bullet head lights?

New TA200 rider here. Just a few things to share... Ah Chong from Planet will provide your bike with the necessary repairs and not a single $ more. His guys are friendly and prices good.

Try to sign up with motorpay so you don't need to always remember to insert your cash card for erp gantries. Rain-X your visor, it will make a big difference when riding in bad weather.

I love my Phantom!!

he had already factored the minor repair costs when he offered the price, no doubt his team members are friendly people.

motorpay troublesome as it requires you to charge the erp using credit card, another move by garmen to boost the banking business.

Why is it troublesome just because it requires a credit card? I would think it's more troublesome to have to remember to slot in your cashcard each time you want to take a toll route or worse fumble for your cashcard when you realise you need it 500m from a gantry. Honestly that few cents surcharge for the service can actually contribute to safe riding and in that aspect is worth every cent.

useless for people who cant apply credit card, they should improvise and make the transaction more easier, maybe like pay later at SAM or AXS station after passing thru the gantry within certain time window or bill to our mobile phone account instead of credit card bill.

Ah, yes agreed. Or even tie up with NETS so it auto deducts from our account even easier!

I am not sure about this but won't Motorpay work with Visa Electron cards?

oh, i just checked one-motoring website:

Quote from above-mentioned website:

Easi-ERP

This service allows you to pay your ERP administrative fee and outstanding ERP charges through your SingTel mobile phone bills.

Currently Singtel is the only telecom company collecting the ERP payment on behalf of LTA. I am Starhub user, hope Starhub also follow up shortly as this service is really useful so I wont be paying violation charges just because I forget to insert the CashCard in IU or may not have the time to top-up the CashCard when the card balance is low.

Yup, definitely more convenient, however it does not work for parking so you will still need to carry one in your wallet.

Guys, is it better to buy a phantom that has never been overhauled or one that has just been overhauled? Assuming both are the same age, around 7yrs.

that depends.....if the running hours of the machine is due for overhaul, then overhaul it. if not due and under well mantained, dont see the need to overhaul. you can check the running hours or i would say mileage by checking the mileage counter at the speedometer, provided the previous owner had not reset it.

also, noted that the meter counter will be reset to 00000 after 99999 km.

buying a second hand bike is like crossing your fingers hoping nothing serious will happen, otherwise will lighten your wallet.
