From my understanding, white smoke could be engine oil burnt due to leakage thru piston ring. Did your engine reduced? Make sure the engine level is always above minimum level. Overhaul may be required if the piston ring worn out. :(

That is the carbon residue from your exhaust... Normal... ;) just wash your end can with the hard and rough green sponge and it should be gone... Nothing to worry about...

Okay thanks! I'll try to wash it off next time.

P.S it's also normal to notice some "bluing" (I googled the term) at the tips even on good exhausts like Blueflame/Yoshi right?

Not sure... Because the "bluing" only occurs if u heat it at very high temperature... And the bluing on yoshi are normally burnt on, not ride and the temperature make it blue...

hi guys! recently bought aftermarket endcan on the 12th for my spec3. Went to service & tune carb 2 days after as I just got bike abt 1 month ago, figured might as well go service. Changed to bigger jets, 108 for middle 2 and 105 for outer 2 cylinders (mech reused the 105 jets, so I had to pay for the two 108 jets), also changed needle valves as it had wear & tear signs. Washed the carb and did synchro too.

I noticed that when moving off, sometimes will kena about half second lag, RPM will go from idle (abt 1.1k) and drop to 500, BUT bike does not stall, it will then move off after that.

Is this phenomenon normal? Also noticed that after servicing carb, my blueflame will have popping sounds, which were not there before changing jettings/svc carb. Online readings seem to suggest its normal for aftermarket exhausts though, a sign of healthy engines (source: http://www.mikuni.com/tg_backfires_in_exhaust.html). Would just like another rider to comment on these 2 before I go another bike shop for 2nd opinion.

Thanks!

hey guys encountered an issue recently and hope to get some advise from here. My old front brake discs were warped so i exchanged them for a pair from my friend.

The replacement pair was used and flowery in design. Arashi-branded. Basically chinese-made. The disc are able move alittle when i hold the disc and rock them back n forth. They have these rings to join the inner disc with the outer disc. are they replaceable?

Now braking is fine just that there is a 'tick 'tick' sound when i brake..

Guys,

Need to clarify something real quick. Since I am a newbie to Super 4 , how exactly do I distinguish Version S ,Spec1 and Spec 2 looking at the engine ?

Because other than the side plate and Speedo is there something I should look for to differentiate ? Also does the bike document specify if its a Spec 1 or spec 2 ?

I read at few places that they change the side plate and speedo and fake version S as spec 1 !!!

Cheers

Yesterday, I parked my bike at an open car park from early afternoon till night time. It was raining around evening time and the rain was quite heavy.

After the rain stopped, I started my bike and I heard a weird noise coming out from the left side of my bike. It sounds like there were sands grinding inside. I can't really pinpoint which part but the noise was quite noticeable.

I thought it was because the bike hasn't warmed up yet so I twist and hold throttle(to 2RPM) for a few seconds.

I then noticed that my bike wasn't charging like it should. My coil was less than a year old.

I waited for a while but the bike still wasn't charging then I decided to ride it back home first.

After riding for 5 minutes, I stopped at a traffic light and was trying to listen if the noise was still around.

Amazingly, the noise was gone and my voltmeter shows that the charging is back to normal!

What could have happened? Water went into the alternator ?????

I am riding a spec 1.

Please advise. Thank yoooooooooooou!

Hi friend, I had the same problem recently. In the end I found out it was the ignition switch getting stuck. Basically when I pressed the ignition on, it did not pop back up and was half depressed, so it was constantly triggering the starter motor. Might be the same prob for yours. Good luck. Oh yeah the solution was to pull the switch back out after starting, might glue a little spring in there in the future though...

Anyone know where i can get the clutch and brake levers that have the numbers to adjust them?

He who fights and runs away

May live to fight another day;

But he who fights and stay

Can never rise and fight again.

Lim Ah Boy at Kelantan lane. Stock ones are the best though.
