[Q] Im riding vtec 3. When my bike is fully warmed up after riding for around 15mins, my bike began to backfire and lose power as if de bike is dying.

 

My exhaust does not has the normal exhaust sound. ANd ive serviced my carb as i thougt the prob was with de carbs but de prob still exist.

 

Anyone has this problem before? is it the plugs?

hey guys encountered an issue recently and hope to get some advise from here. My old front brake discs were warped so i exchanged them for a pair from my friend.

 

The replacement pair was used and flowery in design. Arashi-branded. Basically chinese-made. The disc are able move alittle when i hold the disc and rock them back n forth. They have these rings to join the inner disc with the outer disc. are they replaceable?

 

Now braking is fine just that there is a 'tick 'tick' sound when i brake..

 

Why do you want to change the rings?

 

Yes you can, but locally I am not sure.

 

Other than tick sound, are there any jerking movement when braking?

Just asking how much would one be willing to spent on a rear shock for super 4 spec 1? Mine is spoil and the shop told be it is more then 1k to get new original ones.

Yup, checked with distributor but they carry no stocks. Hopefully is not the coil problem, do not wish to part with money that much again.

 

Today my bike break down (I know it will be coil). Send to it workshop at old woodland, The mechanic double check on the rectifier and do som test whch happen that it also going to spoilt too. End of the day, Costed me around 480 bucks for coil, rectifier, cover & labour cost.

 

However, I feel funny. I have a voltmeter that install on my spec 2 (not directly to the battery). When it starts, it indicate around 11.5 or 11.6 (which is near to the blinking). But when the mechanic use his voltmeter n plug directly onto the battery, It shows around 12.6 instead. Which makes mi confuse...

Anyone know where i can get the clutch and brake levers that have the numbers to adjust them?

 

I got a pair at Jb instead. cost me around 150 ringgits. Design not bad

hi guys, i recently bought a s4 spec3. however there is something that is worrying me.

whenever i start the bike when the engine is cold, there will be a loud knocking sound from the engine. but when i clutch in, the sound goes off. comes back again when i realease the clutch. however after riding for some time and when i restart the bike, there is no knocking sound.. please advice guys. thanks in advance.

Hi guys, Just replaced new batt for my spec 1 on 8th dec. Previous replacment was 15mths ago. Then this morning bike cant even start. Last rode the bike last friday. Cant be 4 days of inactivity can drain bike's batt right?

 

Only hv volt meter and pivot voltage stabiliser tapped to the batt n i doubt these are batt suckers right?Possible that the shop did a lousy installation or gave me crap battery? Wonder whats my chance of getting free replacemnet if any...? Or cld it be somethg else that needs to be replaced?*Thanks in advance!

Hi fellow S4 riders,

 

Been having some problem with my Spec II. Need some advice on what is the problem.

 

1. Loses power on slopes

2. Gets even worse after I clear the slope. Can't go beyond 5000rpm even at full throttle. Top speed in this situation is 80km/h

3. Engine stalls when I clutch in on the move.

 

I have changed spark plugs, tuned carb. Bike was normal for a few days. Problems surfaced again a day after I was caught in a heavy downpour. Incidentally, the first time the problem surfaced, it was also a day after I was caught in a heavy downpour.

 

Wondering if any bros out there might know what could be the problem.

Thank you for the suggestion. I did, sorry forgot to mention. In fact changed air filter too.

 

any changes of sounds? does bike has a specific situation that it will stall? mayb too must water in your tank..

Thank you for the reply. Engine sound becomes lower in pitch but not significant. Engine only stalls when I clutch in on the move. Usually when I am approaching red light, clutch in and free wheel for a while before kicking down gear. This is when the engine stalls.

ps, typo , is mayb too much water in tank... anyway the symptom i encounter for water in tank is totally diffferent from urs.. onli thing same is full throttle the bike just stuck at certain rpm... i think no way to check water in tank, unless they have a capsule to throw into tank then take out to look at the capsule for colour change... so bikeshop will only perform draining of ur fuel in tank ..

Anyone knows how much it roughly cost to change the rear wheel bearing? I have a feeling the bike shop is going to overcharge me because they refuse to give me a quote. Appreciate the information. Thanks!

Highly likely is clutch housing. How do you deem as loud? Adjusting the clutch cable might soften the sound. Go bike shop, they will likely ask you to change the clutch housing. Cost around $300+ if not wrong.

 

This only happen during cold start right? Engine warm up should disappear.

Recently went to Unique to do some servicing for my Spec II. Have to say that this shop is very open about their pricing. Thats a good point for me as i can compare with other shops. Service above average. Down side is that they may not have those not so common spare parts. Have to wait for them to order and sent to their shop.
