Recently went to Unique to do some servicing for my Spec II. Have to say that this shop is very open about their pricing. Thats a good point for me as i can compare with other shops. Service above average. Down side is that they may not have those not so common spare parts. Have to wait for them to order and sent to their shop.

Yes, good point is that they are very transparent with their charges. Down side, IMHO the prices are steeper compared to other workshops. I was charged $90 to service my forks, another $90 to change cone bearing. I'm very sure there are cheaper alternatives.

About their services, nothing special lah except for their 'signature' cold bottled drinks.

Hello fellow super 4 mates,

Am quite new to my current CB400 Spec 3, and have came across this problem that had occurred to me and has find it strange as I have never encountered such propblem.

Following is the problem I am facing which I hope that it could be rectified:

Throughout the ride from Choa Chu Kang all the way to Paya Lebar, there will be this short 5 minutes in the midst of the ride, the speedometer no 'stopped working', and the RPM meter will be stucked at 5.5 despite the different gear that the bike is at.

Apart from that, I could feel that the power is being restricted and the exhaust has a 'stuck' feeling where by I could hear and feel. However, this problem will and the bike will regain its power after the 3-5 minutes of the problem that I have described above.

Hope this problem could be solved as I have asked other super 4 riders and they have no idea what is wrong with the bike.

Thank you and have a great week ahead guys! :D

$90 to service fork and replace with original parts sound ok.. I have been quoted by shop that only give aftermarket parts at a price of 80. For EO and tyre servicing, should be ok to go there. For other accessories like chain, exhaust etc, maybe best to check out other shop first.

What actually I meant is that most motiam may not know what is the caused of the problem and try to do this and that what they think is the problem. I what I have suspected may or may not be a solution but I think it could or likely be bekuz I had solved this problem before. If u want me to handle it..just pm me but I'm free only on weekends.

Coolant pump leaking.. Basket just flushed last month! Any idea how much? Thanks. And btw, when warmed up the RPM still stays at 2000 even after 5 mins. Even while riding, after much riding then it will go down. Why?

Hi guys.. Recently I notice oil leaking near my oil filter.. Have anyone occurred such problems before.. Anyone know what is wrong bo?

Posted

Looks like your oil filter is leaking. It can be simple repair of changing your oil filter. If you have not done your oil change please do so too. If your leak comes from somewhere higher.. Might need your mech to take a look.

Yamaha 125Z-Oct 2006 to OCT 2010

HONDA CB400 SPEC 1 - OCT 2010..

I'm sure its not somewhere above cos it dry at the tip but oil filter area is oily.. it has not leak to the point where I can see it drippin on floor.. lol I will not notice it if I have not wash my bike..

Its should be ok just do an oil change and replaced the oil filter and ask yr mechanic to tighten the oil filter properly to the recommended torque...

Thanks alot.. hopefully its ok.. always scare it will affect the engine..

Posted

Yes it will if you are not taking a good care of it cos the engine oil soon will become lesser and lesser and yr engine oil will become insuffiecient...

Thus will effect yr engine parts. :dot:

Need help my spec 3 have these ticking sound is it serious or is there anyone here encounter the problem n have solve this issue

Ticking sound when starting up right? Common issue ..... After warm up no more.

This is due to the clutch plate wearing.... Not compulsory to change but if u really feel the money to change it...can go ahead:)

ya i had that problem too. usually after warm up it disappear.

how do you all warm up the bike?

for me, smoke one stick the length of warm up for 5min on early day.

will a quick revv to 5000 rpm for quick warm up for 1min is ok?

cuz morning i woke up late for work usually and don't have sufficient time to warm up the bike.

Hi guys, i notice that that my engine emit streams of hot air from the right side. I check the header and its not leaking any hot air from there. Neither is it coming from the fan blowing at the engine. This stream of hot air is constant. Any idea where the source might have been? Thank you.

Let it idle for 2mins it's ok already. Don from cold rev at 5000rpm or don rev at all...it's harmful actually. If u are late..let it idle 1 min and slowly ride for awhile is better than revving it
