of course it would be cheaper last year... prospect buyers should strike when the economies were shaking...

too bad none of us is probably going to experience an economic meltdown as grand as this again in our lifetime...

How did you come to such a conclusion?

Becos the growth is still very much rely on credit, shaky growth. Most bankers suspect a W recession/growth. We been through the 1st V, the next V dunno when will break.

Insightful comment, but how does that conclude ->

oh reply wrong post. I was agreeing with Gerald in reply to your question to Vidak's comment. Oh nevermind, i mean my take is it could be a W recession, if this growth is not sustain. Because this rebound is scarily fast and furious. I dunt like it fast and furious.

anyway, nowadays singaporen are working so hard and tough jsut hope to own a flat, 200-300k flat???is really crazy price raise. seem we are working our hard sweat money for RENTING a flat not buying a flat in the end... some people are rich that can afford is their problem, but just feel the authority should balance among the average family like us. and latest news claiming by the MBS saying the survey tells all singaporean seem comfortable with the pricing nowadays, high successful transactions, those that do not succeed is they too selective??? i find is a big j for this???as these surveys whethe g or not?o ones knows.. alot of more complaints on this new flat price, but as singaporean all know scare scare la, wait... so no one really voice anyway the last election already tells the unhappiness of the public, i strongly believe this coming election will be more obvious...

btw, i knew the hdb website, there is a fedback columme, is it really makes an effect by me alone if i feedback to them.. compare to the million people outside that rather stay silence and choose to pay and pay...

Posted

if each one of the viewer send a feedback to the hdb site upon agree on price too high cant afford, i see will have effect, sbf no.1 hit wor.. ha ha. i will feedback now to them. hoping when my turn to buy a flat the price will be much more reasonable

Posted

Their point of affordable is you have enough monthly CPF Contribution to pay for the next 30 years....Yeah.....

Is time for change......Just place any dog or cat on the next election on the table i will vote for it......At least they wont ask for more money and come up crap statistic from god know where???

Lets face it, land is limited houses are filling up empty areas. So you think housing price, even if they do drop, will drop much? Theres nowhere to go but up and up and up in singapore. Thats why i left LOL. You can get a nice bigass house for 80-150krm. Cars cost as cheap as 20k.

Price of houses now in singapore i would say is crazy, i just can't imagine when my children and grand children wanna buy a house. I can just imagine that one house the loan would last a few generations so one house = one family for generations to come.

All thanks to the 66.6% who has indirectly allowed the current pool of FT to come, get PR, join the waiting list for a flat, sell it off when the prices is good, head back to motherland, erect a 3-storey property with probably a big garden + pte pool...

It is a fallacy to say that there is limited land for housing in Singapore. There is much much more land to build on in Singapore, more than enough for tens of thousands of new units. Drive around Singapore outside of the established estates and see for yourself.

Further, there is lots of redevelopment potential in old estates like Toa Payoh, Ang Mo Kio, to increase the density of housing.

He who hesitates is lost!

Maybe the survey was done on people queuing up to buy at the HDB HUB, and not on blue collared Singaporeans slogging away at their workplace 12 hours a day, but still cannot afford these crazy prices.

Since those queuing up already can afford, the figures are askewed to the affordable end of the spectrum.

I dun care about development potential, its the density thats the problem. Even if u got a nice location, nice view, its not forever, even freehold, they can just repossess it and build cramp up flats, its really gona be a sardine-can metropolis Sg in no time.

To what extent can limited land continue to densify? There has to be a limit. And not all empty lands are able to support mass weights of HDB flats. Some areas have pipes running below which will be risky. I'm not putting down singapore i love it here. But we all must accept the fact that there is a limit. Once that limit is reached and our population probably doubles or triples, prices are gonna sky rocket.

Thats when the middle income and the low income suffer the most. I rather take the safer way rather then living to see that day.

Thats the sad thing, the houses are not really "your property" its like,

HDB - "ok we need to tear down this building all of you get out"

Resident - "But i thought its my house i paid for it"

HDB - "No we lied to you now get out and take this crappy house i'm offering you take it or be homeless"

Resident - "Ok"

" HDB are still very affordable to Singaporean. In area like Jurong or woodland that is.... "

Quoted by 66.6%

At this kind of inflation rate, sooner or later , the next gen youngster will have to stay with their parents till 40 years old, as they cannot afford the cheapest “public” housing. Shame on the affordable and "Subsidized" HDB.

The Interpretation of Subsidized HDB = subsidies is the profit that they forgo making,

instead of actually paying part of the cost.

Well done 66.6%, for making everyone in Singapore suddenly got elevated to

Swiss standard of living, except you, and everyone around you.

i half agree with you

is land that limited ?

u want to count along the east coast line how many golf courses are there ?

when u travel ECP sheares next time towards changi, look to the right

u see a big ASS golf course with auto water running and bright stadium lights but how many pple playing ?

imagine if that is turned into a housing estate , how many pple will be able to live there ?

further down on ecp, how many more golf courses can you see ?

after bedok camp ? exit to changi ?

your gahment policy is simple

all costs will remain at levels you can manage, but u be out of breath

you be constantly thinking of making ends meet rather than planning a demostration, rather than planning a rally,

if you do, u get ur ass sued big time and the average man sees another average man being crucified , he go back to hide.

examples are all around for us to see, you need to put two and two together

remember something, public housing, public transport are vital services provided for the people and not for profit making

dont be suprised one day your pigeon hole will be "privatised" becoming a lowest end 99yr "condo"

and you be charged privatised price.

Exactly hahah singapore has built a system for us to be so focused and busy with stuff that we have no time to think of the bigger picture. Yah la maybe limited land isn't such a big issue ah. But abit worrying when you think they say their target for 2011 is 6 MILLION PEOPLE. LMAO Japan anyone?
