hi all

 

Just got caught for white smoke thanks to bike shop putting in cheapo 2T oil. Got caught 2 weeks after buying bike

 

NEA says got video tape can view but must pay so lan lan pay $70 fine which can buy me 3 Esso gold

 

Also thanks to bike shop putting in cheapo 2T oil make my bike give PSI 200 smoke. Go to eddie ong, he say must use finish 2T then replace, cannot pump out

yup..me oso caught at woodlands checkpoint on a weekday morning recently due to troublesome smoky rxz..decarbonize pipe..use esso gold..and the most minimal setting for 2t..still kena fine 4 white smoke..appeal 2 times rejected...NEA no give face one...

now in the morning when start still got smoke, but i think riding time, not much smoke liao

 

went to HKL, quote me 70 dollars to cut open the exhaust and clean cos they say esso gold should not give white smoke

 

NEA really not give face one. they say they only can allow appeal it happens within 3 days after I get the bike. 2 weeks is no excuse

the problem is white smoke from 2B 2stroke bike is not always due to using cheapo 2T right?

think my case is definitely due to the cheapo 2T. Esso gold doesn't really emit as much white smoke

HUH...3 days ah..what a lousy excuse...i appealed my fine on the same day i was fined..still no difference..whatever the timeline...they will give dumb*** reason y cannot waive the fine..

He said your appeal might be successful if you boght the bike for less than 3 days. Not within 3 days after getting the fine.

where got such thing , last time i asked a bike shop to drain out all my 2t

just part n parcel of being a rider..some fines here n there..but its really ridiculous of NEA as all 2stroke bikes emit more or less smoke.was also fined at checkpoint b4 and the smoke emitted from my bike is normal n i swear to the officer dat once i move off,there wont be much smoke..but still got a summon n inspection for bike..maybe dats y we r seeing more 4strokers on the road these days..there aint much to choose if u want a first hand 2stroker..

you can drain out the 2t and replace it with fresh 2t. think it's time you should visit another shop.

 

sometimes those who just had their overhaul done (change piston and piston ring), their mechs will increase the 2t setting just as a precautionary measure against piston jam. is it reasonable to fine those with excessive smoke? who will pay the 200SGD overhaul cost if the piston jams again due to insufficient 2t. quite nonsense right. -.-

Oh shoots man...my 125Z a lot of smoke no diff if use esso gold or shell one.... hopefully wont kena...

Actually, if the job was done right, there is no good reason to increase 2T intake as precautionary measure. It is just a myth that more 2T lubricates your engine better. In fact, too much 2T causes the engine to run lean and hotter, making it even more prone to piston jam.

 

When I owned an SP, I went to the track and frequently redlined my bike. The white smoke it emitted was negligible. The piston seized only after 30000+km of abuse.

Use reasonable quality 2T. Make sure you give your bike ample 'warming up' time before riding it off, especially these few days since it's colder, your bike will emit smoke to rival the haze when you cold start it first thing in the morning. From there on, given correct settings on your bike, the white smoke emission should be neligible.

lolx. NEA won't wavie your fines tat easily.

 

They themselve dont have the right technical support or mech to prove that whether ur bike just overhauled or change piston ( which requires a little bit more 2T ). They will just say Yamaha informed them that NEW BIKES OR WHETHER OLD BIKES ( overhauled or whatever ) DONT NEED TO RUN IN, thus no reason for the bike to give out white smoke. I dare to say this cause this is what they told me over the phone when i tried appealing several times. Then when i asked to speak to their chief mech or person who knows about bikes, they will just say Yamaha say this and that. But they at least let us drag fines by instalment. LOLX.

 

If they are really that concern with white smoke coming out from bikes, might as well dont allow 2 stroke bikes in S'pore, that will solve their problem. And if they are really keen on getting these white smoke machines, their cameras should camp at woodlands check point as most of the white smoke machines came from over the causeway.

Once upon a time i was riding TZM, also relate to ESSO 2T..... abt 4 to 6 bucks type... the bike feels beri slack and the response is slow... On the way to malaysia, the bike had a loud thumping noise. Engine stalled, vehicle fail to start despite of mutiple attempt. Push startin also cannot work.. My pillion n mi started to curse and ****...Push the bike to the nearest shop, ....power valve snapped into 2...cost RM400bucks.

 

Till today, still not sure wheather it is the malaysia made TZM or wherever made 2T.

 

God Bless... use a reasonable 2T. Later on i switch to an SP...give it 4 dollars 2T it also won't complain....

Actually, as long as you can see reasonably visible smoke, you are at risk. Do take note. And if a fine is issued, the chances of successful appeal is almost impossible.

overhaul cost maybe 4 to 5 times the price u say..change block and piston then maybe 200..

i tink thats 1 hell of a reason y i gave up my stroker.. the smoke was killing me.. and my frens' shirts.. lol.

 

but 2 stroke is so fun..
