Hi everyone,any r106 riders here?my bike have some continuous clicking sound,anyone experience it before?

When u pump ur bike at high gear low speed.there is this clattering sound like cannot keep up with the speed change.laggy feel,isit normal?will doing valve clearance help with this laggy and clattering sound?it's starting to annoy me recently,only have this problem when high gear low speed den suddenly wanna up speed den got this lagging and loud clattering sound.anyone knows what I'm talking about?pls advise.thanx

You can't ride sport bike at high gear in low speed. The gear ratio will give you the clattering sound.

Low speed at low gear only. e.g. gear 1 = 100km/h

High speed at high gear. e.g. gear 6 = 320km/h

 

So you can't expect at gear 5 you are going at 70-80km/h, else problem.

the 04-06 model have short stroke engine and hence less torque at lower rpm. Just downshift a couple of gears before you accelerate.

still too slow! r le wan cannot stand that low speed at 6 gear la! :cheeky:

hi guys.. is it normal to keep on hearing backfire when i accelerate and suddenly close throttle? cos i heard some people saying backfire is due to the setting not done properly.. is it true? btw im using leo vince with y-pipe and without silencer..

Try put back ur silencer lo. If really is those damn loud de back fire.. Ur plug sure gone case de

sorry what is AIS?

 

The Air Induction System (A.I.S.) burns unburned exhaust gases by injecting fresh air into the exhaust port.

 

the injection of air will cause some backfire if your bike had been de-cat with a Y-pipe.

 

The solution is to remove the AIS and install a block off plate.

hey guys....my r1 always idling not stable 1...anybody receive the same problem?

 

ah beng from bikeworkz told me it's my spark plug coil spoil...while clifford from knt says just need to do a dynorun...but i'm thinking...i already have PC3 inside...so the previous owner sure got do dynorun before already...den why would i need to do it again...

 

any advice?
