Btw, I weigh about 58 kgs, can you advice the recommended tyre pressure, for both Singapore riding and long distance touring ??

(I tried friend's advice :Front-36, Rear-42 Psi but its seems rather "bouncy", or is it suppose to be like this ?? )

P.S.: thanks guys for the concern and advice....you guys rock !!:thumb:

bouncy may be due to your front suspension getting too soft. Have you done a servicing on the front forks before?

tyre press front 36 and rear 42 is the manufacturer recommendation. I am using front 34 rear 40, suit me fine and me weighs in at around 65kg.

maxxmadness aka 35

fork servicing + fork seal + fork anti rust was done some 12000 km ago, so i suppose it should be working fine...probably I should reduce a bit of tyre pressure since I weigh only 58 kg... thanks for your advice !!

Bumpz,

check ur tire pressure only when they r really cool, meaning not ridden or ur 1st ride of the day to the nearest petrol kiosk, petrol kiosk with digital pump will be good.

front tire pressure should be not more than 36/250 & rear 42/290. I usually check both my trie pressure before I head for rides.

Hi brothers,

Few questions.

1) Is your hondaline rear box the original accessories for STX1300 as in the website below?

http://www.honda.co.uk/motorcycles/en/jsp/accessories.html

If it is, kindly let me know whether its available in Singapore, including the arm rest and the additional LED lights.

2) Main Headlight, when on, is it one side or both?

3) Can the front signal light be modified to remain on like a riding/position light? (easily done for st11 but not sure abt stx13)

4) how to identify Boon siew STX (besides the boonsiew sticker/emblem) ie any different in specs?

Thanks.

The rearbox can buy from David Silver Spares from the UK. The rest of the items are from USA.

Does anyone had install or want to install radiator guard for their STX.

Yes, done it. Just buy the aluminum mesh from a car shop, e.g. Autobacs, and cut to size. Use locking wire to secure to the radiator.

Hi guys,

Need help from experienced fellow riders here...

You know the engine vent hole inside the air filter area..

When my bike's temp goes up(about 1/3 mark on the temp gauge)...engine oil will start coming out thru the ventilation hole ... its coming out bit by bit but bad enough to soak my air filter(there's actually a small pool of engine oil on the air filter tray)...and leaks right down to the side stand...

Have any of you guys faced tis problem before ??...

I tot it could be due to excess engine oil but after rectifying, its still does not help..

BTW, currently using K&N air filter, iridium plug and fully synthetic engine oil...

Please help me....

Bumpz,

One of a fellow ST Rider has this problem also. End up have to overhaul the engine and change oversize piston, cause the piston and piston wall badly damaged (burnt marks).Suggestion to you, don't go for any tours during this period of time when you have this problem.

The problem you have described could be damaged piston rings. In this case you have to go and get it changed. Try, to get it checked by a mechanic.

One more thing is, if there is nothing wrong with the beast, you top up until the 'H' level at the engine oil indicator, no oil should be coming out from the air filter side. See that you have dropped the oil to 2/3 mark. Check whether the oil filter compartment is still oily.

I chanced up this ST1100 that is selling at another forum. It seems a good condition bike at a reasonable price to me. The owner, whom I don't know, seems not local. So I just put his ad here so that any potential ST1100 buyers wouldn't miss this lobang:

WTS Blue Honda Motorbike ST1100 Nov 2000 mileage only 39000KM

Nov 2000 Honda ST110 for sale. Mileage only 39000KM, owner is a motorbike enthusiast who adores motorbike. The bike is well maintained and is only used during weekends. Looking for SGD10k.

Interested parties sms to 98197975, Seller speaks little english, please be patient.
