Like the bike? Just buy! Ask here and there in the end still liddat

Bro, no offense, but i'm a person who'd want to have the nitty gritty details about the bikes im considering.

I find it kinda senseless to jump in head first, buying a bike that I like, but regret when the downtime is long due to the scarcity or unavailability of parts.

Just my 2 cents, bro. ;)

Is okay, I didn't felt offended anyway, everyone have their "2 cents". So.. What bike are you riding now? Thinking of R125? :shy:

I guess that's the problem with parallel imported bikes. If only hong leong brings in the R125..at least spares would be easier to get.

Right now, my considerations are R125, RS4 125 and Duke 200. I like the WR125X too but I'm very short so it's out. Won't be changing bike for the next 3 years at least cos I'm planning to do a part time degree.

Btw, this will be my first bike. Passed my 2B just last thursday. :p

Rich uh. Haha getting first hand bike? I think R125 better lea. FC so good.. Ride for so long alr nvr give me any problem before. Somemore my ride is per day max 200km de lea..

Don't really like aprilia bike.. For Duke 200, i think also ok la, maybe I don't like this kind of bike haha. Congratzzzzz on your 2B ~ Come join our Team R Series group.... So get a Yzf-R125 is the best choice!:p:P:P

But then coming into here (as bias as it might be sounded), after all you are in the realm of yammie, of course more loyal fan here. Now, lemme be as objective as possible.

Since you mentioned you are keen into WR, looks like you are more of a SM/scramble/naked bike person.

So, check out some pix man. Look at some cls 2 bike and then decide. (it works this way because at the end you know what you are getting at.)

If you are into

- Ducati Daivel

- Honda CB1000r

- KTM Duke 699

- Yamaha Vmax

Then I would say for 2B beside TW-200, you can get KTM duke 200 first. Not a bad start with india's finest research on FC and also parts within reach. India market is opening up here with bikes coming in.. Bajaj Pulsar 200NS is one good reference.

Else why not settle for the S4 alike, FZ16 if you dont mind a little lower end on parts including drum brakes for rear and a little chip of the old block of the FZ's series. None racing engine but provide comfort in riding.. Not the fancy gadget dashboard go-getter but definitely a reliable ride for the next 3 years.

Or

Consider getting something cheaper and then move on to cls2A of even 2 (quoting what JSC's "Big bike" logic :D).

How deep is your pocket I wouldnt know, but insurance for this range of bike is definitely 150 - 250 cheaper than the fairing folks here. I'm venturing you need to top 150 for new rider so that would be a sizeable 1k max for insurance already? Not forgetting if you're below 21, the premium might as well be pegged @ 700 above.

Road tax for 200cc and below is 32 (1/2 year) and 64 a year.

New bike includes GST, reg fee, IU, plates, admin/agreement fee and some other general charges for the bikeshop.

Looking at your choice, I say you have deep pocket. But, part-time degree would shovel much into your pocket and leads to back to square one.

So what i'd say?

Get a cheap ride (phantom 200), hold that testosterone for 3 years, grad... Earn your bucket of gold... Pump it full size :)

But of course, you're good at your own ways too. No sweat, just pop by here and the folks here will gladly help.

Why would i want to smash something so wonderful? Ha! The only one that need smashing are all those inconciderate drivers who follow you dirt close when you're in 2nd lane @ 100, those 2t bike that blows @ you when you are just cruising... Low life prick who sit on your bike trying to impress sec girls and lorries who decided to maintain in the dotted line knowing you're going to pass them soon.

If you think my pockets are deep, my friend's pocket is an abyss. Bought a brand new Streetfighter in cold hard cash and he's only abt 2 years older than I am (i'll be 24 this year).

Mucho gracias! Actually, for me, a gorgeous bike is gorgeous no matter if its a naked bike or a bike with fairings. I was initially considering the Pulsar 200NS until i saw that it uses 3 spark plugs. Major turn off. Given my age (24 this year) my insurance for R125 is abt 1.2k.. not really deep pockets la.. juz hoping to be able to pay at least 50% of the price or better yet 75%.

I really really appreciate the sound advice that you're giving me, but finance wise, i think i can manage. Just that there are certain things that I needed to know before I bite the bullet.

Thanks again for the advice that has been given! Really appreciate it!
