somehow i dont understand y ppl say 2 stroke bikes harder to maintain...

4 stroke bikes got more parts den 2 stroke bikes to maintain rite?

Coz got 2T, higher fuel consumption and higher engine wear and tear (this one if you whack alot). Other den that, still 1 plug and engine oil. For me, the power a 2 stroke give is worth the 2t and extra costs.. 4 stroke >200cc can sleep man..

yzf r125 its a 13litre tank... but how far can it go... if juz for transport purpose? wat is the milelage like?

I believe this bike will give at least 35km/L.. so with 13L tank, can go quite far..

LOL:dozed: the yzf-125 is more about aesthetics rather than the performance.. if u ask me i think its a gimmick.

Put it this way...our newer generation of (Class 2B) bikers won't be able to tell the difference

Whilst we can begin critising that bike based on its engine being 4-stroke, at least a happy biker who has just passed his TP can hop on to this bike and be all smiles commenting about "how good it is" to be on...say...the Yamaha R125

( I'm keeping performance shoptalk to myself should I ever meet up with a would-be biker ;) )

i think it has nice sporty look....way too nice for a 2b sports bike, definitely beat the hell of RS125 but powerwise, it still is a 125cc bike which is no matter how much mod u do to it is nothin compared to a 400cc bike....I would buy it to attract girls...but not for power....

2s or 4s is not the bike tat count.it the rider.

Yep, I agreed with you totally. But if i am going for a sportsbike (handling and speed), I will make sure it be a 2 stroke especially if it's only 125cc. If i go for a sportsbike, that means I want power, and u all noe deep in ur hearts this R125 can't produce it. But for those who are into looks and want something that is easy on maintenance, den get it lor. All the more power for you. :thumb:

Aiyoh bro, what if she asks u to go a lil faster becoz she wants to feel the "power" of "R" technology? And most girls nowadays has been pillion on many bikes before, til the point some can even sms while their bf take a corner. So most of those ladies will expect u to go abit faster..

but i agree with u, i pillion girls on my s4 and i rarely ride as fast as i do solo. It's for my and her safety. But for y125, no need to worry about speeding, so upz lah :cheeky:

Oh come on. Don't overuse the "It's the rider, not the bike" theory.

Sometimes it is that simple. The bike counts... like in this case. Equivalent engine capacity, 2 stroke VS 4 stroke, is clear cut. 4stroke loses.

And the most important step is to get this baby on the track; the R6 has been proven the best, so let's see whether the R125 can perform exceptionally well should one of our local track amateur decide to brings it out to track.

This somewhat would mirror how the RS125 got successful and was suited for track newbies to build up their skills that way.

I'd say let's give this 4-stroker a chance for opinions, benefit of the doubt.
