Hi Ah Pek, don't know if you still remember me. I come along here sporadically.

Anyways, the Ver S which I handed over to my father, had its handlebar stolen and all wirings severed.

I'm compiling the following for replacement:

1) Throttle cable

2) Clutch cable

3) Left switches

4) Right switches (do the switches come with the wiring loom? Otherwise, left and right wiring too)

5) Handlebar

6) Nuts and lugs to secure handlebar and switches

Any idea what else I'm missing? And the expected breakdown of costs? Do you have a parts list for the items as I don't wanna go to FJT without any part nos. Best would be an illustration from the manual, which I can't seem to find over the internet.

Btw, this happened at Jurong West St 81. I'm guessing its a one-off event by someone who had either crashed or had his part stolen and/or does not have the means to purchase a new assembly. Good luck to him and his future endeavours, provided he doesn't crash again for his lack of intelligence. At least leave the wiring intact, for goodness sakes. It's a bloody mess to sort out the wires because of his lack of professionalism.

hi i may be able to help a bit cos i purchased both left & right new switches fr chong aik - they have a parts list there w diagrams. if you need the part no. pm me i still have the original honda oem box they came in w the part serial no. the switches comes w all the wiring. if you wanna buy my old switches - they work perfectly fine but just look worn - pm me too!

kano - Didnt. My dad is a police officer. But we all know of better things to do with our time.

smoothie - Hey bro. I tried PM-ing you. Seems your mailbox is full. I'd be happy to relieve you of your old left and right switches w/ wirings for the right price. Thanks man!

I think I'll head down to Ah Ann scrapyard tomorrow and see what I can salvage from his yard. Any idea how much the throttle tube, clutch cable and throttle cable will cost, anyone?

Its one of the bad ones among what I know..why don't you just take Bridgestone or Dunlope...sighhh.

I'm on a low budget la William what's more the festive season is just around the corner.

Maybe i'll just use them first for the time being. Got no choice on this one.

Btw about the brake pump. Is $50 the current price?

Or should it be more costly?

Anyway thanks for your opinion.

Of course lah my friend..stay up with me until almost 4am in Kopitiam..LOL!..the PI with red blood shot eyes. How?..have you gradulated yet?

Sorry to hear what happened to ur Dad's ride mannn!

No to worry about the cables from them switches. Its a no brainer job. The assembly switches from left and right all have connectors that are coded the same as in the main harness residing inside the headlamp housing..plug and play.

Throttle cables cost about $60-$66 (return and pull as a set with installation) to do in mototiam. Switch assembly..buy and hook up yourself cheaper..about $75-$85 plus.made in China these days..the priginal Japs one are ore costly. Clutch cables about $17 to $28 depending on where you buy from.

As for Handlebar...I have one Spec 3 one (pm me if you can use it) and for nuts and lugs to secure handlebar and switches..can find them at Peh Huat near LAB (behind the Kopetiam there) but u need to show them the size. Also..I think u may need the handle bar clamps which the four allen keys holds the bar down.

Congratulations!!!...your Vtec has just been automatically converted to a Non-Vtec bike...hee..x2!..just kidding. No lah..where got such thing as "valve stick"? If stuck..your bike won't move liao. May be the Vtec selenoid assembly is not working properly acuatating into Vtec..just a wild guess.

smoothie - Ah Ann doesn't have stock for the S4 mirrors. However, he says a batch of Vtec1s are being scrapped and sent to him in the coming week. The mirrors should fit, right?

Ah Pek! Still remember the bloodshot eyes. Hahaha. Haven't graduate leh, but final year liao. No longer working as a PI for many moons already. Job too dangerous ar.

Anyway I got the following from Ah Ann scrapyard:

Left Switches - $30

Right Switches (with complementary throttle cables) - $30

Handlebar (with complementary gold-coloured balancers) - $25

Handlebar clamps with 4 nuts - $5

Grand total: $90.

Now I'm missing the clamps for the brake lever and clutch lever perch, the black ones. Forgot to ask Ah Ann. Back to the scrapyard tomorrow. Btw, for those who don't know, Ah Ann scrapyard has moved already. It's now at No. 19 Joo Koon Road, instead of Jalan Buroh. Look for the small yellow sign.

version s or spec 3 faster???

Alot of things to take note of, vtec doesn't mean faster. I feel vtec is more of a fuel saving "feature". I have rode both bikes. Personally, I feel the Ver S has more torque then a Spec 3. Top end not too sure as both the bike should be able to hit 180-190kmh.

spec 3 vtec too ... !

vtec engines feel more alive and responsive{like keep on want to go} ver s engines feel lazy; like must poke and taunt it before it is willing to go.

especially when the vtec kicks in, it's like a sudden burst of torque from somewhere. the joy of vtec&technology.

Understeer is when you hit the wall with the front of the car

and oversteer is when you hit the wall with the rear of the car.

Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall,

torque is how far you take the wall with you.
