tried changing to Splitfire cable for my rxz... Can really feel the diff but thn my frenz warned tat it mite burned the piston also. Using the cable inproved my FC, but i changed back to normal cuz scared my piston gone..

This is okay lah...won't burn..its either you take his say or mine. The cable normally are of better resistance free from voltage drop load and os silcon construction..basically transferring the full voltage (should be around 25,000 volts) from the iginition coil to your spark plug gap to havw a more efficient spark for better combustion thus resulting in better FC.

As long as you don't chnage or replace your standard ignition step up coil to something like 30K to 45K (which you can and have to change CDI also)..the spark is not that intense lah...moreover..b4 you would want to do this..you also mus mod stuff in your carbs to have that kind of power. Simply put, your standard piston material is not meant to handle what is higher end performance..you want..change to Wiseco race kit.

IUH27D

Yes...both are correct..it jsut a different between colder and hotter plug and both are Denso Iridium "Power".

Why it fail for you...may be you would want to change the heat range. Not sure what mod you have on your bike or your riding habit and style..but a colder range one should be better for you.

micron fs with kenso jet kit , it last me only 3000km

Sound like very pwoer mod stuff you have leh...may be you should used Denso top performance range call "Iridium Racing"..get the cold range one if any but the one I know is "IU01"...its meant for that hard "come..let'us git goin' thingy" :) Oh..but $$s...feakin' xpensive. For me...actually Denso U24FER9 will do lah..like taking MRT or faster than bus like that..heeee..x3!

is iridium spark plug better in Our bike? wat u feel for the different?

Here..read this..you get a better grasp of things..(I'm using Denso Iridium 27 myself on a PB1 much like Smiley73). In my conclusion...don't expect xtra horsepower but do have a slightly smoother ride, slight FC improvement and the most important to me..don't have to worry about changing plugs too often.

Recent advances in fabrication techniques have enabled the use of Iridium - an incredibly hard precious metal, for the construction of spark plug electrodes. Laser technology is used to weld the Iridium tip to spark plugs manufactured by both Denso and NGK. It's worth noting that spark plugs can't increase the potential power that an engine can generate but a more efficient spark will provide more efficient combustion and associated performance and economy benefits. A poor spark from a worn or low grade spark plug will reduce efficiency. An Iridium plug will produce a more efficient spark.

Notable properties of Iridium are its melting point - approximately 2450 degrees C, considerably higher than Platinum, and it's strength - approximately 8 times that of platinum.

Advantages of Iridium spark plug types

Due to the properties of Iridium, the spark plugs centre electrode can be made with a much smaller diameter than with platinum, Gold or gold palladium and copper/nickel types without sacrificing service life. The spark plugs potential difference is more concentrated at the tiny Iridium tip and hence less 'spark jump' voltage is required - this can be as much as 5,000 volts less than with standard plug types. Ignition is improved and less strain is placed on the ignition system. Benefits of improved ignition/combustion include better fuel economy, increased power/acceleration and especially better throttle response.

Denso Iridium Power racing plugs

Denso racing plugs are available for most applications and are a suitable replacement where standard Iridium power plugs may not cope adequately with extreme use and very harsh engine conditions. Superbly engineered with Denso's 0.4mm Iridium centre electrode and a 0.8mm solid platinum ground electrode. Supplied in a protective plastic case. Available heat ranges start it '24', equivalent to '8' on NGK's heat range scale

Very clear infor:thumb: thanks will change one for my Ver S. Btw Ver S use which model for NGK or Denso?

24 or 27 better

If memory serve me well, 24..the higher the digit...the colder the heat range of the plug. So to say..no which one is better..I guess there isn't either..its what you choose your plug heat range for.

Colder one is better for continously long ride like staright up KL and the hotter one...for day to day rush hours be great. Due to the longer core for cooling purposes, I guess it has a rough feeling during cold start in the morning and engine has to stay hot to keep up with its effective operating range...other than that..I guess they are all the same once fire up to operating temperature.

One odf this day hve to try the NGK Iridium X! :)

Btw Ver S use which model for NGK or Denso?

For Denso Iridium Power..Its IUH24 or 27 lah...depend on your riding. If you ride day to day rush hour and seldom take long trip..then buy 24 lor. I have both..change only when I have long trip to the other.

NGK...is call Iridium X...have yet to see one myself..but same la...the higher the digit, the colder the plug...but better asked the shop people bekuz I might mistaken it the other way round.
