Anyway for version s.. able to install a 3 pt crashbar ah..

 

Coz from what i know.. its only 2 pt... how much is it to install a 3 pt one? n where?

yup ... can install tank bra .... i think it leather ones .... the tank bra need to install properlly .... i'll post up pics when i have fix it properlly ...

the tank bra will not really sui sui fit lar but ... for a $60 product .... i quite happy with it .... will post up pics soon .... it lab ones ....

Hi bro Munsation aka Chee Mun,

I saw some S4 Version S fixed the 3point crash bar.. so i believed that it could be fitted. But maybe need some mod. Go to Motorworld and ask them to code u the price and compare with SengKuang. MW have some diff design and they know better!

haha.. i think sengkwang will be more ex thn motorworld ba.. coz one is custom make the other is standard design. only wondering what type of modifications need to be done before i can put a 3pt crashbar.. looks nicer man! haha..

as i promise ..... my bike with okada tankbar buy from lab ... $60 on a version s .... the fuel tank area will be a bit out and some rear and front of tank ...

 

but for a $60 product .... i'm quite happy with it ....

Do you guys know any reasons why some super4 have diff insurance price?

 

Mine is $480 per annum. then I get to know this guy riding Vtec1 ah, his age and my age is diff apart by 4 years younger than me. but his insurance ah is $500. a diff by $20 bucks sia. I'm 24 by the way. sheesh.

 

Is it because of the history of the bike. Mine accident once. before I buy it lah. thats what I know.

there are a lot of ver S using 3pt crash bar including mine so its no prob....just make u tell the shop that its for ver S.

bro superpig4 , LAB did ask me what colour tankbra i want b4 i buy ... so i GUESS there's other colour range ....

 

hey the LAB tankbra ... i look at BAGSTER tankbra i notice even bagster does not fit sui sui ... so that comfirm ... version s can install LAB tankbra .... it will be a bit stiff when new lar ....

 

bro hid_rid , Ah boy jb ... cost price bring singapore $50 more then enough for both rims ....

Hi, has anyone went for a major overhaul of their engine? Got some qns here regarding overhauling.

 

I understand that 4 strokers (esp our inline 4 engines) usually do not need 'overhauls' like 2 strokers. But I commonly overhear ppl say top overhauls, change shims lah, gaskets lah etc..

 

1)what usually happen during overhauls?

2)what do the mechanics usually look out for when doing overhauls?

3) i understand top overhauls involves only the opeing of top blocks but what about major overhauls?

4)I understood from ah chong of planet motorcycles tt the change of shims for s4 are unnecessary cos they are not exposed to so much damages like those in rocker arm type of engines, but it seems like some of our bros here have replaced their shims, so whats their story then? Can any bros who have replaced their shims share their story?

 

Sorry ah, abit long winded cos i saw a black ver s undergoing overhaul at planet. Its engine block was completely taken apart and cleaned. When i asked y, they said that its rider redlined it so often that the pistons jammed. :giddy:

 

Would be grateful if we can discuss more on this issue, cos our non-vtec rides are usually old liao, so do we need to go for these major servicing or are they really unnecessary?

bro calyban ..... if u like to wack ur bike to it's limit every sec that u ride it .... pls buy expensive top grade engine oil ... change it every less then 5000 km .... our s4 or other big bike dun usually get piston jam .... i did ask bike mech b4 .... if it get it means the rider like to speed but no money to maintain his bike .... fast bike always involve money bro ... the faster ur bike is the more money u spent ... eg tires,petrol etc etc ....

 

usually mech dun do major overhaul if ur piston is still moving lar bro ... what they look out for ... hrm ..... lots of things .... that only they know ....

I heard the overhaul ard $1500 and up. My mech says "If your bike like no hope, then better sell buy another one. coz if you overhaul also it wont last long. if it stil ok, then can overhaul but prepare big money coz its not cheap"

 

One of my fren ride a PB1 last time, also overhaul. but...after a long run ah for few years ah, his engine suddenly say BYE BYE. the engine metal body can actually crack. all of the oil come out. His mech say "Say good bye to your bike. no hope already" heehhe. now he riding CBR400.

 

I think thats the price lah. Aiyah last time overhaul my rebel125 also nearly $600. thats one also after 1 year plus the engine inside no hope already. Coz I whack alot.heheheh. thats why now buy Super4

yah, i guess EO counts for a lot for engine protection and maintenance.

the mech overhauling that ver s at planet oso said the owner nber maintain his bike, something about overheating it constantly, so most prob the EO usage was stretched.

 

hmm, but how many of u non-vtec bros out there have went for so called top overhauled or bottom overhaul b4?

I have seen ppl saying online that they changed shims and cleared valves as a form of regular maintenance, not as last resort repairs. hmm, so confusing.

 

anyway, will continue to ask more ppl about it.

After poke my muffler the stutter is much much lesser. Anyone has any idea wat causes the stutter? Muffler choke isit?

I got another problem with my bike.

 

That day I opened my crash bar to respray it my self lah. Wah piang to put it back againm it took me 2hrs sia. Until I give up I go up left all the thing under the block and take a drink and some rest first. hehehe lucky come down nothing missing.

 

Btw, I also respray my Radiator cover and mesh. Then after that go and wash bike lah. clean everything from head to toe than wax2.

 

The next day, ride my bike, I heard a CLICK CLICK CLICK sound coming from the front. it will only sound when I hit 5000rpm. I thought my radiator mesh loose lah but I tighten it that night mah and after check also go no problem with the mesh. Then I thought my brake lah coz I clean the disc and brake also. but maybe not from there coz the CLICK CLICK sound came from like my engine lah. I suspect my OIL FILTER got problem lah coz it sounded very near there. Oh yah, when I engine break ah, came out a CLICK2 sound outside.

 

What do you guys think ah? what is the problem.

Fazli - hi there...wat u mean by the term "poke"?? :giddy: Are u meaning u modify the exhaust by clearing some restricter in it? Btw,now my bike have a serious problem..sianz...rpm 1k - 6k damm flat..like now power like that..is it bcos i fill Esso petrol or bcos i adjust the clutch settings..anyone can help me? damm sad...rides a 400cc like no power..

 

Hondaman - as far as i know,the crash bar is secure together with the engine...thats why u had a hard time tightening it back by yourself ba..btw i also just spray my radiator cover but not the mesh le...and the 2 metal pieces by the side.. The clicking u mentioned sounds like wat ah? :giddy: or issit u nv tighten the screws properly...thats why when the engine rev,it vibrates and grinning with some metals parts...
