wat u did to fix the problem .. n hw much u spent to get it done ?

This can be a serious problem..hope its leaking fromeither one of the 'metal' water hose pipe though (only nee to change the seal)..other than that, you may have a "hair line" crack of the engine block water jacket ($$$$s!!!):giddy:

If one cylinder is not working...yes, you can tell by hearing and performance. Performance is jerky and randomly sluggish..and the sound you hear is like bubbles making sound in a pipe or gargling with your mouth close.

I think you need to service carbs soon...but b4 spending that $80 and $40 for tunning..go get Blue Coral petrol treatment or STP fuel treatment and ride hard for two tank full first. Yes, it cleanse your fuel flow path very well..but read instruction for amount to be ised with your fuel. I believe your choke link for butterfly carbs flap are contaminated with dried fuel residue only. Give it a try...don't service carbs straight.

thanks pek! point(s) taken.

I resolved my coolant leaking issue when I did a top overhaul (change top gasket). Before I did that, I've been running with left leakage for almost a year, within which I went for quite a few trips up north. You can still ride as per normal, just check your engine oil consistantly for contamination.

My advice is to seek multiple opinions. Not just from the more popular shops, whom simply asked me to change top block when I ask them last time ($2k+!!!).

holy sh|t 2k! i think when you come face to face with a situation like this, this question MIGHT come to mind: "is it worth it?" yes, we may love our bikes and all, but we cannot run away from the fact that our bikes are old. sometimes you cant help but think "2k burn in an instant. can do so much with that money." haha..just a thought though.

I know of one eldery guy who has a brand new blue Vtec 3..ride slow with the bike like as if it was a 150cc bike and did it a lot of city riding. After less than 4 months, he went back to Ban Hong to complain about white blueish smoke coming from his engine sometime. When they checked, found out that the mid engine block has a hair line cracked (where coolant been leaking in small amount and yet dried up ast from heat of engine)..further check found the coolant reservoire dried and finally, the radiator was dried too. Cost him almost 2K just for the block..not only that...has to wait almost 3 months + for the block. He thought initially he can claim warranty but this was not the case..considered under owner negligence for maintenance.

So the cause of his problems was his slow riding?

So the cause of his problems was his slow riding?

1) Overheating due to insufficient air flow cooling in city traffics and

slow speed.

2) No knowledge of water cool bikes..don't know and never check coolant

level (old generation Ah Pek, one leg on chair type on

stool when sitting in cofetiam...I'm the newer gen Ah Pek :0)..don't know

what's coolant but know what is call "Tan_Kee" (dialect for "Radiator) and

"Kia_Chiew" (run by water).

Sad thing really..somemore eo was almost all dried :giddy: up..now he's a bit of a new gen Ah Pek after talking to me..a lot of "Orh..Orh..Orh.." from him..but wish him the best though.

Jus now i went to Giant. Saw the 'carlube' engine oil. 5L for $29.90. 'Fully synthetic'

Seems like a deal too good to be true. Really can save money sia. But it says 5w-40.. our bikes can use it?

Is this the one you are using Ah Pek?
