Hi guys, just to share my encounter. I just rectified my problem regarding "hard to change gear" and "hard to engage neutral gear"

Apparently, there are a few causes tt directly or indirectly affects ur bike:

1) Chain slack

2) Old thick EO

3) dirty poor maintained chain (residue and dirt stuck on ur spocket)

etc..

The mechanic at Ah Fook was kind enuf to share and clean the mess.. And it doesnt cost alot to lube and maintain ur chain once in awhile for a smooth and safe ride. :)

Hi Ah Pek, thank you for the diagnose session, mine bike pick up is better~ haaa just that its a bit difficult to kick to neutral, i tried to tighten the screw, but feels the same or maybe i did not tighten enough. anyway will continue to monitor the carb also. Will look for u soon~

Upz for Ah Pek! Guys his a bike Guru~ Guys Recommend Him to your frens!!!

Hi all, another mod question. Anyone know where I can get longer clutch and trottle cable? For my version S. I was tOld by a shop that u can not get longer clutch and trottle cable than the stock length, I find that hard to believe, I am sure there are other model bike clutch and/or trottle cable that can suit super 4, or even customize cables?

My bike shop recommend Fz150i handlebars. It's a little higher than what I have now and not any wider when I placed it against my current bars.

Hi mobile nerd, do you know how much does it cost to get the FZ150i handle bars. Cos i don't really like the fatbars or other handlebars that is aftermarket for super four and i need a handlebar which is slightly higher then the normal..

Thanks a lot.

Haha, actually the only way is just to take time and do research on the forums or spend a little money on petrol go about to search for good bikes. It took me 1 month of searching to find a good buy (my current ride) and have been riding it for almost 3 years now. i think with my current ride, 2 ~ 3 years i think can go for scrapping.

someone who is an expert in super4 should post a buyer guide as a sticky. alot of us newbies class 2A riders are cheated or fooled when buying used bikes!

Yes i do agree on this. based on real life experiences, Bought a faulty bike and now spending a bomb for repair.

Do NOT rush into buying a bike. Especially more than 10 years old.

Sent to Workshop for inspection if possible.

Let the bike run for 15 to 20 mins to see if any overheating problem.

Check for any oil leaks.

Bring someone with experiences along.

The list might goes on and on . Please do check thoroughly before commiting to one

Basically the engine is starved off fuel by carbs (did u service it recently) or weak sparks which is caused by under spec delivery of electrical to the spark plug cable or perhaps the ignition coils. The possiblities is debatable. I would think it better for u to have ur battery changed first as I have anaysle its weak capability to hold charge (high resistance value..above 10 remember?) though your magneto coil charging is up to spec..then we see how to preceed further.

ah pek... battery changed on monday... today bike stall again... before stall gt the feeling of fuel wanna enter and don wanna enter...wats ur advise?

Bro, though question not for me, I would like to share my thoughts with u. I experience the same thing. Like no fuel feeling. Then throttle more, like wat u say, sound like v twin and like anytime bike will stall. Then travel a while more, stalled. Crank, but cannot start. Like wat ah pek say, fuel starve. Open tank cap, no hissing sound. Turn to reserve and on for a few time, also cannot. While waiting for EMAS (20min), decide to shake the bike left and right. Crank, bike start, hold throttle and get out of expressway. Abt 5 min ride, stall again. Call tow truck, tow to workshop. Trouble shoot carried out. Fuel bypass carried out. Bike can start and maintain. Fuel supply frm tank, bike stall. Fuel pump working, hence narrowed down to fuel petcock. Workshop say no stock. Damn! Today got stock, but very expensive. One ride home. Feels normal. Will monitor a few

More days then update again if u need me to.

The above is only for reference only. I suppose it will save me some money if I know the source to get the fuel petcock myself.

Hi, I would like to know whether it is a good idea to do just the synchronisation of the carbs without opening and cleaning it(like most motodiam ask to do)?? I plan to do synchronisation as my idling is not good(jerky) when warming up in the morning and feels sluggish when riding. I've already tried the stp cleaner and found it more or less same. Sparkplug wise should be ok laa, less than 6k old.

Bro, u did the sync? How is it?

I was thinking of the same thing. Just spent a hole in my pocket to fix the engine stall issue, so got to hold on for a while more before doing other improvement.

May have to have a carb or tank/fuel cock clean for the next move.

If ur fuel pet kock is clogged..just take it out and clean by unscrewing the big nut that attached it to the base of the tank. Be sure fuel level is extremely low and tilt the tank vertical.
