I hope urs is not my ex ver s with plate no Fp 5674 s if im not wrong.

Problem bike. Change block,piston,water pump,thermostat removed,thermoswitch replaced,hose replaced. I thought problem solve

Transfer to my fren due to upgrade to cbr600

Only to know that he too had done top overhaul with block replaced

On the last day to trade in bike to asphoon. Rode the bike. Damn. Engine gone case. Again

Bro ask u one question, after remove yr thermostats then the red temp light will not light up already izzit?

Correct me if I m wrong....

Did u install a direct switch to turn On the fan permanently?

Cos I thought of doing that if my themosiwtch faulty....

Then I will always let it ON, and monitor my temp light if lighten up, then I will stop n let the bike cool down......

If I do it this way , will it protect my block?

Will this scenarios happen,

When the coolant pump n all the hose ok, themostate sensor also ok, but the temp light still always light up....

Wat will be the cause of fault?

Sorry if I worry too much n ask this kind of siao question....

Our guru ah pek will chip in. He knows more

Its not good to leave ur fan on all the time. It will drain ur battery and can hurt ur rectifier and coil.

I do have a by pass switch to on the fan only at jams.

Thermostat is internal. I have removed that as in sunny singapore, the thermostat will be constantly open. So I juz bypass it

Thermoswitch is the switch at the radiator. That is to control which temperature to switch on the fan.

The terms I used my be wrong but im sure ah pek will correct me.

The light will only on when ur bike is hot. That's what happen to my ex ver s lar

If u suey like me this headache will nvr end

I too had replaced my radiator once

WELL said Shahrul :thumb:....just replace the word "Thermoswitch" to "Thermal Switch" or simply "radiator fan switch". "Thermal" meaning..Relating to or associated with heat.

Hi bro just wanna share. My bike fan also doesnt work. Went to a few motortiams and consult them. One say fan spoilt another say radiator spoilt. One say must chg fan switch. Must flush coolant etc. Finally i went to see my usual mech at Bikeworkz. Ah beng check. On my bike heat up until the side coolant bottle start to boil. Crazy! Fan still wont turn. He then checked the wiring underneath the tank. Apparently one of the wire was cut accidentally. Fix up and now fan good to use. Total damage 45$ cos i told him to chg my fan switch as well.

i think i'm in love with a Bol'dor.

Juz about to say this. Yup u r rite bro!

Sometimes, its the wiring too. Over time wiring must change. It become old and worn out. N yah sometime its may have been cut.

Slowly run thru everything not to miss anything out.

Nvr trust one mech too. That's what I learn coz not everyone is like ah pek. Willing to help with honestly rather then profit. Survey and ask around.

yo bro.. sorry by the time read this already test my bike... and result is... still not working.. meaning switch was not spoilt.. therrfore as fellow members here state, must be some loose or cut wiring connection.. tmw i guess will drop by mech shop and have the wiring checked.. more money out my pocket... haizzzzzz.....

If you have tested the fan and the fan is working..there is no worries. If the fan don't cuts on and knwoing that the fan is ok..this is GOOD!..as long as the temperature lights don't comes on. When fan comes on once too often and the temperature lights DON'T comes on...trouble is coming. So at the moment..if ur fan swicth is working or NOT..it doesn't matter...AS LONG AS TEMP LIGHT DON'T COMES ON.

All wrong.

There is no such thing as a "thermostat sensor" lah. Thermostat is just a thermostat..it's like a gate regulator opening and closing to allow so much of hot or cooler coolant to pass in and out...spoiled means jammed to the coolant system and no flow and the coolant overheat.

The sensor I mentioned earlier is a temperature sensor...it monitor the heat temperature of the sensor for ur temperature light..that's all. If urs is a version "R"..than it provides readig to a temperature gauage.

NOTHING TO DO WITH THE FAN or RADIATOR FAN SWITCH.

Hello Ah Pek... Sadly enough, my Temp light did turn on.... haiz.. therefore i suspect must be wiring since my thermoset working, switch just change... Later i might drop by the mech to have it checked.. hope dont get choped.. haha

Got it bro pek.

Temperature sensor spoil, then the temp light will not activate, tat's all.

Themostate is for coolant system flow, if my radiator not hot, means my themostate failure or radiator got prob....

Then the fan switch how it's work?

Izzit also got sensor to sense certain heat temp then trigger the fan to 'on'?

Abv correct?

Gam Xiang for guiding .

Correct. The fan switch is a thermal device as I mentioned earlier. The material the contact point made of is a 'sensor' and respond to heat. Refer to my earlier post what "Thermal" is please.

Just went to mech.. surprisingly my fan only start running when my bike is extremely hot.. meaning after red temp light turns on still fan wont start.. fan start only after bike gets much hotter.. is this normal?.. or is my temperature sensor spoil?..

Not normal. Ok...like u said..could be your sensor (a small thing like the fan switch but srewed on to ur thermostat housing..can just buy and replace urself..a few $s only). Take off tank and u can see it sticking outside on the left of the thermostat housing..has a wire connector attched to it.

Hello Ah Pek

any good shop or mechanic that you can recommend? bike had a stationary drop on the right side a few months back.

my spec1 meter started with RPM meter cannot work, then progressed to Speedo, now fuel bar and time cannot see liao.

checked at FJT with regards to the pricing and was quoted about $800 for whole meter but they did ask which part of the meter could not work which I'm not really sure. If you willing to help then this weekend i can make it. :p

Thanks in advance yah

If I were u I go for koso digital meter or some other aftermarket meter.

$800+ for meter. Wow! Shocking man!

Bro Pek, thank you for yr detail explainaing .

I have just come back from testing my fan.

Wow, it's work after I throttle the rpm to 8 to 11 in a stationary position .

Then I let it run a while without throttle, the fan start running, but running less then 10 second, it's stop... Izzit normal?

I didn't test until the temp red light lighten up...

Cos I afraid it will hurt the engine or block may crack....

Bro Pek, izzit before the coolant boil, the red temp light will lighten up?

Or must wait till coolant boil then will lighten up?

I have checked earlier post on "Thermal" meanings = Relating or associated with heat. All e while, I m taking wrongly( I m really sorry if I have mislead others), no such things as themoswitch, it's call thermal switch or easy way to call raditior switch :)

And also themostate and temperature sensor are both different things n serve diff function , at first I thought same...

So I think temperature sensor is not so important, as long as yr themostate is working , then yr coolant will not jam.

Hope capture all the things u share correctly.

When u said 'wrong', my heart sink....

Thanks again Bro Pek for all yr sharing.

Sorry again to trouble u...

I wan to knw more abt my bike... So tat I can take gd care of it.....

What you say quite true but dunno whether digital meter will be as accurate, also fuel gauge will it be accurate?

anyone here installed digital meter on their s4 can comment?
